My previous emails going back to 2004 are there, but all emails after November 2012 have disappeared. Has someone hacked into my email? Why have they all suddenly disappeared?
This should be a simple task but I am not able to get outlook.com to find a string that contains a question mark in it.
I am using the advanced search and attempting to enter a string such as "today?". I would like not to get all messages with today in them, but just the ones that match the full string including the question mark.
The escape characters \?, '?', "?" don't seem to do the trick and I have not been able to find documentation on line the describes how to do this. I have to believe that it is simple.
Hopefully this is a simple answer that I am overlooking.

I am now aware that I have not been receiving my usual @hotmail.com address emails for the last 6 days. Having logged into the Hotmail website, it appears that Hotmail has now become Outlook.com. All my old emails are gone, and my emails from the last 6 days are nowhere to be seen. The settings show that my mail was no longer set to be forwarded to my other email address.
Basically, it seems I've been changed over to Outlook.com without warning (!!), that my settings have been returned to default, and I've lost all my old email and the emails that were being sent to my @hotmail.com address over the past week.
I require assistance in:

My account is used for business and back in the middle of September one of my clients who was emailing my account said that their messages were bouncing back. However there seemed to be problem with servers at the time or was a new update and told them
not to worry.
However now less than half of my emails sent to me are being either sent back with error 550 saying mailbox unavailable or the email just seems to disappear or not being received till hours after being sent. My emails to them never seem to reach them and
normally after the second or third attempt it finally arrives to their account.
I have been though different trouble shooters and so far I have:
- Cleared all my inbox out and made sure there is plenty of memory on the inbox to make sure that emails have space to come in.
- Made sure all addresses that are coming into the account are marked in the trusted list
- Having to send an email and text clients to try and log whether they have received my emails and when
- Made sure I am pressing reply to emails and getting clients to reply to my emails to prove the addresses are valid.
- Made sure no clients are blocked or have any details in my 'rules' that stop them entering my account
So far nothing has worked.
Emails that were sent last week 8 of my emails went missing even though I am told they receive them, and more than half of the emails sent to my account never arrived or bounced.
I have now 14 of my clients telling me my account is useless and could I not use something else because they are sick of sending things 3 or 4 times before they get through, or in the worst cause that things are missing deadlines because they are not being
received in time.
I need help in sorting my account as soon as possible as this cant continue.
Problems with the account started Sunday 14th of September and at first it was one or two emails then it increased and now its got to the point where I not getting hardly any emails. Its progressively getting worse.

I'm experiencing an issue with "SkyDrive Sync Engine Host" on Windows 8.1 Pro (x64). Every time I start the computer this process eats up all my upload bandwidth and if I open the SkyDrive application (Modern), I can see that it's going through all my SkyDrive Folder files.
This is really starting to bother me since there's a lot of photos (relatively small files) taken with my Lumia phone and a bit over 400mb of data. It takes quite a while to sync up the folders and it also causes issues with my work connections (remote connections require the outbound bandwidth).
I have redirected the SkyDrive folder to a different location (small SSD disk for OS), could this be the source of the issue or is there something else I could do to avoid this issue?

Currently have Outlook.com set up as a send-only account...how do I change that to a send-receive account with the same ISP email address...do I have to delete the existing send-only account first...?
