My hotmail on my Kindle Fire worked for a while, but now it says "Authentication Failed."  I saw the response to a similar question, but the response referenced using an i-phone.  I don't have a smart phone of any sort so it couldn't help me.  Can you suggest another way to fix this problem

Dear All,
I use an iPhone and wanted to add extra security to my hotmail (outlook) account.
I cannot find an "Authenticator App " in the App Store as suggested in the security settings.
Has anyone else found a solution please?
Thanks very much.
I have tried to add my Virgin email to my new Outlook.com address and was sent a text with a code to confirm the action but the weblink always comes up with "page not found". Weblink is https://account.live.com/confirm. I have now had to cancel this set up and have been given the message that it will take 30 days to take effect. The problem is that Virgin are closing my account in 3 wks time as I no longer have broadband with them so I am going to have to check TWO accounts as I will be starting the long process of changing over all of my logins/contacts. Why do Microsoft send out this link if it doesn't work?

I can log in to hotmail but the inbox page has lost its format and I can't see my emails or scroll down the page. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I tried asking for advice on the microsoft support web chat but they weren't able to help me.

Hello,

I ran across an interesting problem today.  I synced up my email using the Outlook.com mobile app on my Android device (version 7.8.2.11) and most of it synced properly, except two of the four emails I was looking for.  There are two sets of two messages that came in at similar times from the same sender with similar subjects and messages.  It was from winning two back to back auctions and it was the automated winning notification and the personal request to pay for each of them.  Only the older message from both sets actually synced to my mobile device, despite all 4 messages being displayed in my Inbox on the Outlook.com website.  I tried re-syncing and changing settings all over the place, it would not bring down the similar emails.

Is it possible that the sync algorithm is comparing certain parts of the messages and senders which cause it to lump the similar emails together?  Perhaps it really thinks there is only one email and is weeding out the second one assuming it is a duplicate post from the syncing process?

I really want to like this program but the syncing issues and scrolling issues are really starting to get to me.

Can someone please help?

Thanks.

Hello All,

I am having issues with trying to subscribe to an .ics calendar using my outlook.com account.  Basically I am trying to subscribe to a calendar so that it will update my Win Phone 8 dynamically.  I can download the .ics file and import it with no problem but that is not what I want since the calendar is a dynamic schedule that updates frequently.

http://www.pcsra.org/ics?action=get&referee=1047

I can also subscribe to the link in my gmail calendar but that does not update my phone :o)

The webmaster\developer of the website is willing to make any changes necessary to increase compatibility of the ics calendars.  Can someone tell me if there is a specific version of the standard that Outlook.com is looking for in the ics URL?

Like I said the file imports perfectly but I want to subscribe and that is where the issue lies.

Thanks,

Dave
