I am not sure if this is the right place or if this is an xbox live question so bear with me.
I want to set up child accounts so that my kids can sign in to XBox live through my XBox Live account but won't be able to purchase anything. So I set up an microsoft account with outlook.com email addresses for my kids but I can't link them to my account. When I log in to my account and go to 'Permissions' --> 'Kids' Accounts' it just tells me that I have no kids accounts but there is no option to add them.
Each of my kids accounts has my email address (which is my account name) registered as an alternate email address.
What do I need to do to link my childrens' accounts to mine?
Cheers,
Malcolm.
I set up my gmail account as an extra inbox in Outlook 2010 using their IMAP settings and set up my newly created outlook account using the instructions found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2735989/en-us
After that, I've been manually moving each folder from gmail to outlook.com and waiting for Outlook 2010 to sync with the network.
Unfortunately, a couple of hours ago I received the following errors when Outlook 2010 was attempting to sync:
Task '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' reported error (0x80041003) : 'The server reported a temporary error. Error: 5102. Server. Exception occurred in LoadProfileStore.
Task '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***' reported error (0x8004102A) : 'Error with Send/Receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error: 80041004.'
I then attempted to log onto my outlook account and could only see this message:
Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook right now
When I clicked the link to report this to Microsoft, I also checked the Status History. I see there was a problem with Outlook today:
October 2013
However, it is also telling me that this problem was resolved. Does anyone know if there is a problem with outlook.com or if this is specific to my account? Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advanced.
I was using my hotmail email address on my resume for job searching, but have had to switch to a gmail account because I have now had 4 recruiters who have tried to email me and I have not received their emails.
2 of the recruiters are people I was succesfully trading emails with, then a subsequent email they sent was not received. So I received prior emails from them, but not later emails.
The other 2 recruiters, this was the first email they tried to send me, I do not know what their email address is.
I checked my junk folders and there have not been any emails placed here. I confirmed my Reply-to address is set to current address, my junk mail settings are set to Standard, I have no email rules set.
I did add 1 of the recruiters to my safe sender list thinking this was a possible solution but still did not receive the email, but I don't see why I would have to do that as I received an email from her successfully previously, and never placed her on the blocked sender list.
Prior to these recent occurrences, I had stopped receiving emails from my town with automotive renewals notices - when I asked town hall about it they indicated many hotmail users had complained to them the emails were not being received, so this is not a new issue for my email address, but has now become critical as this is affecting my job search!
