Shortly after updating from Windows 8 to 8.1 on a new PC already running Windows 8, I started getting "<my email name>@outlook.com unavailable" displayed in the top line of the Calendar, People and Mail apps during attempted syncs. And my Windows 8 Calendar and People apps no longer syncs with what is in outlook.com.
I was previously syncing with my outlook.com account with no issues. Running outlook.com from my Internet browser works fine and mail, calendar and people functions are working well. My Ipod Touch also syncs ok with outlook.com, both directions, for the Contacts and Calendar functions.
Tried removing the account from Windows 8, re-implementing to no avail.
I'm at a loss why this started happening after the upgrade. Anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Right now, my Calendar and People apps are dead in the water, so I've reverted to using Outlook.com on web to manage my Email, Calendar and People (contacts).
got message to verify account. Signed up for microsoft account - and completed questions. My old hotmail account has disappeared along with all its contents. How do I get it back? Tried setting up new one, but doesn't seem to bring across what I wanted - old contacts, emails etc. Please is anyone able to help. Not so good at all this new stuff
Hi folks,
I've read earlier threads on this issue and followed all the steps (opened up in other browser, and in private etc) and found one solution briefly worked (typing /university details in my case it's a .ac.uk account) but that no longer works now.
Here's the problem:
I try to log into my outlook university account (which is not and never has to my knowledge been a 365 account) in the normal way and I get the following message
***You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account)***
When I click the 'here' button it just goes back to the above message.
Now there are some very important mails in that account and I need to be able to access them...I saw on one of the earlier threads on this issue that microsoft are aware of the issue and are working on a solution but this is going on a very long time from what I can see and still NO SOLUTION??
I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out here as I really do need to be able to open this account.
Thanks!
