Hello, I am Frits.
I talked to a person from Skype Support some hours ago, and she adviced me to contact MS Support.
The below is a copy of my questions to her.
When I go to Skype in the W10 App Store I have the messages:
“THIS PRODUCT NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED ON YOUR INTERNAL HARD DRIVE” and
“THIS PRODUCT IS INSTALLED”
I have already tried this solution from Microsoft:
Method 1: Run a SFC (System File Checker) Scan by following the steps provided below:
- Right click on Start button and select “Command Prompt (Admin)”.
(W10 after W. Creator install: Windows Power Shell –)
- Right click on Start button and select “Command Prompt (Admin)”.
(W10 after W. Creator install: Windows Power Shell –
Windows Power Shell (Admin)
- Type “sfc /scannow” and press Enter.
- After the scan is complete, type “exit” and press Enter.
For more information about SFC scan, click on the link below:

Method 2: DISM TOOL:
- Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt(admin).
- Type the following commands in command prompt one by one and press Enter after each command.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
BOTH METHODS COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY.
I then entered my MS account to download Skype, and this only sent me back to the W10 App Store again!
So, I am still unable to Install the Skype version that is already in the App Store on my C drive.
I do not see any "Download option".
As I understand it, I can only download the classic version, not the one that is in the App, and this is the one I want to download. I have tried everything with the classic version. I have installed High Definition Audio Drivers and replaced them with Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers, which give the strongest sound. However, the person(s) I call cannot/or almost not hear what I am saying.
What do I do?
Kind regards
Frits
Does anyone have a good idea how to download from the W10 App Store?
