Windows Live Mail worked fine until I tried to send a .doc attachment to multiple recipients. The all arrived as .dat files and no-one can open the attachment.
Why has Windows Live Mail started to do this?

Because the windows essentials download doesn't work anymore, I copied the file onto my dropbox from a system that did still have movie maker on it. The file itself downloads fine but if i try to open it I get an error message saying "wlxphotobase.dll" is missing. I looked it up but it says that I have to re-install windows essentials. How do i solve this problem with the windows essentials unavailable for download? pls help
