Question about Outlook Express

I had to reset windows 10 because of 100% disk usage issues after trying everything else.

I was aware that i would lose microsoft office but not that windows live mail would go also.

 How can I recover windows live mail folders with all the old emails?

I cannot sign into Windows Live Mail 2012 using my Microsoft Account..  i.e. to bring up the contacts from my Microsoft Account.

It keeps saying "sorry, there was a problem signing you in".  I can sign in using another Microsoft Account okay, so I know its not the email programme.

Also, I would like to know if its possible to remove the stored email address (username) and password from the Sign In box. They seem impossible to remove. I still use the stored email address, but the password has been changed in the past, so I know the stored one is incorrect. Could this somehow be causing an issue? (Yes, I am typing in the correct password.)

I have read about "two-step verification" in on other threads, I don't have that activated as I've heard this can be an issue.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I see some postings on this issue for Windows 10 but nothing for Windows Server 2016 Essentials (Windows Home Server).

First am I the only one?

Second what next steps should I take. (All previous updates went fine) This is a very generic/simple setup -- basically just used for nightly backups.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I have managed to install LiveMail, after finding the archived file, on my new lap top. I have managed to import my emails OK but the calendar does not show any entries even though I am signed in. It will also not let me add a new event - icon is grey and even typing on the day will not work.

I hate the new Mail and Calendar options enforced by Windows 10 ( as do many others). I want a combined calendar and email package without having to open 2 apps each time. Why have MS provided an inferior product? I do not like the web outlook.com as you cannot see calendar appointments on the same screen as email. Every time a new product comes out, MS do away with much loved programmes that are working perfectly well and offer a rubbish alternative. WHY?????

My understanding with the last major Win 10 update you could now add emoticons using the windows key and the period key. Bu this does not work.

Is there a way to add emoticons to your emails in Windows live mail. (Windows 10).

I was making a movie in Windows Movie Maker when the program blocked while I was splitting one of the imported videos. I closed the program, clicked "save changes" and when I tried to reopen my project I got the message that Movie Maker could not open the file because the file might be corrupted. I looked this message up on the internet and saw it was a recurring problem. I have tried all the solutions I found (make a copy in Notepad etc.), but I can't get it fixed. Also, Microsoft does not provide support for this anymore. Is there anyone who could fix this problem for me? I would be eternally grateful!
