Question about Outlook Express

I've been having problems with Live Mail and my Hotmail (@msn.com) acct syncing with Outlook for some time now - server time outs / cant send receive / unable to connect to "-" folder just to name a few that I can remember.

I have deleted / reinstalled the account numerous times and uninstalled / reinstalled MS Essentials with no difference.

I have installed the email account as both imap and pop3.

With imap (least stable) I have all my extra folders showing in the folder pane - in pop3 I only have - Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Junk Email and Deleted Items (all folders are showing in Outlook.com). Right clicking on the account name the option to D/load all folders is greyed out.

I have 3 other accounts in WLM that are having no problems so I'm thinking it is an Outlook problem.

Any suggestions welcomed.

I am using message rules in Live Mail to move messages from the inbox to various folders based on the "from" field.  But it seems to only look at the display name, not the underlying email address.

I have a rule that moves messages from Facebook to a specific folder, but it is not moving messages from Facebook where the display name is different.

eg the messages asking if I know someone come from "Joe Blow" but the email address is "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***"

The message rule to move messages where "from contains" Facebook are not picking it up even though Facebook is part of the email address it is from.

Is there a way to make the rule look at the email address?

The MPEG and MTS video files that I import from my camera can be viewed by the Windows Media Player, but if I want to edit them with Movie Maker, there is no image in the timeline, although the sound works (see screenshot).

I am using Windows 8.1

It seems just  incredible that Windows tools don't work with MPEG.
Would an upgrade to Win 10 solve the problem?

Hi, I am having issues with Live Mail 2012 on a Windows 8.1 PC. When I compose a message, the typing cursor types on the wrong fields. For example, if I want to type on the TO field, it types on the message instead even when I point and choose the TO, also almost every time without miss, when I try to compose a message it delays my keystrokes, and sometimes it types random words that I don't even key in. I already uninstalled the program, delete all the program files for Live Mail 2012 and reinstalled it and did updates corresponding to the program but it continues to do the same thing, is there another newer version that isn't the native Mail app that Windows has, I even switched the keyboards and the PC is brand new, HP Pavilion Slimline Desktop. This is the first time this has happen, I replaced my Dell Inspiron that I had, and I had Live Mail 2011 on Vista Home Premium and it worked perfectly fine. If anyone has an suggestions, tips, or similar issues and has found a way to solve it, please let me know.
