I need help from someone who's experienced in editing photos with Windows Photo Gallery using Contrast, Color Temperature, Saturation and Sharpen. I don't know if a picture looks better if I were to decrease, increase or leave as is using those editing tools. I have absolutely no idea on what type of photos I should increase or decrease using Contrast, Color Temperature, Saturation and Sharpen and by how much or percentage wise? And should I even use Sharpen to edit my images?

I never decrease Color Temp or Saturation as it makes my images blue and takes away it's color. I don't know if I should increase one over the other, increase both, or just leave as is? When it comes to landscape type of photos, I generally add a little Saturation but don't add Color Temperature. However with photos of people, it's the opposite. When it comes to Sharpen, I think of the saying "Less is more". I'd say I would increase every image by 5%. Should I sharpen every image I have?

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows-10 when it was first made available for free.  On W-7 there was an app called Photo Gallery that I thoroughly enjoyed for editing and sharing.  My husband had passed away in 2013, and I was using Photo Gallery to try and gather pictures into one folder to use for his memorial book.  Then, I upgraded to W-10 and although Photo Gallery was still in the system somewhere, it took a while to find it.  Problem though, is that it was not associated with any other folders or files. It was like a stand alone little app.  I saved that to my desktop so I could find it again.  After that, I was no longer able to add photos to it.

Then along came Windows Essentials and a new Photo Gallery included with the download.  Except I couldn't get WE-12 to download. Well, not the whole thing and not to one file.  I later located bits and pieces of it in several different folders, and I gave up and uninstalled it.  Several months later, (like about a week ago) I thought I would give it another try, and was amazed it loaded this time with no problems. I thought.

Now what is happening, is every time I try to open and edit one photo in Photo Gallery, it changes my screen resolution to the lowest setting making everything unreadable.  And each time I am able to navigate around things so I can get to settings and change it back, a window pops up asking if I want to keep the resolution I just set it to.  And I always say yes.  Then, boom, I open one picture  and there goes the screen resolution again.

Does anyone know why this is happening? And how I can stop it from changing the resolution anytime I want to edit a photo?  It would be most appreciated!

Thank you

Barbara M.

I am using Windows 7 OS and Windows Live Mail v 2011

When I click the sign in button and get the pop up I enter my info and sign in but the top of the bar never actually signs me into my Windows Live Mail. I can click sign in over and over with no luck. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck. I went to my daughter's house and downloaded it on her computer and signed in without any issue. Except my folders do not come up on her computer but all my contacts and mail come up perfectly fine. I would appreciate any help.

I have recently upgraded to windows 10 from XP. I am now having difficulty sending mail, incoming works fine as far as i can tell. Has anyone else had this problem and how do i fix it

I upgraded to Windows 10 and now I can't get MovieMaker to work. It says that MSVCR110.dll is missing.

I have tried to re-install Moviemaker but it makes no difference. I have movie projects already made but cannot view them because of this. Can anyone explain why and how I can rectify this situation.

When I used to save a picture, I could save it as a JPeg, etc.  The last little while when I save a picture it automatically saves it and opens it in moviemaker. There has to have a setting or something I accidentally changed.  Anyone know how to fix it?  It is really annoying!  LOL

I am running Windows 7 and just installed Movie Maker last night (11/07/15) so I assume it is the most current version.  I AM NOT tech savvy at all.  I was able to upload and edit my video with ease, however, when I save it and try to play it, either with VLC or Media Player, I get the audio track that I added to play, but just a black screen.

My husband mentioned that the video is not "encoding" properly, but again, I'm not tech savvy, so I'm not sure what that is or how to fix.  I've read several similar posts to this problem, but I don't quite understand the answers that people are giving.  WAY out of my pay range.

Can someone please let me know if and how I can fix this in simple layman terms?

Thank you VERY much, in advance, for your help!
