Original title: Windows Live Photo Gallery

I have updated to Windows 10 from 8.1 and Windows 7.

Now unable to use Windows Photo Gallery {8.1} and Window Live Photo Gallery {Win. 7}.  I use these programs to  reduce resolution for sending pictures in email .  Is there another program available or is there a glitch that can be fixed.  I depend and really  enjoy using the above and now find it frustrating that I can use neither.

Message pops up that program has stopped working.  Looking to find a solution.

I  was not prepared for this at all.

I use Windows 10, and I use Windows Live Mail 2012 for my email purposes.  I use the Live Mail program because I find the Mail app that comes with Windows 10 to be the antithesis of user-friendly and convenient.

I just received an email from "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***"

It states:

Dear user,
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Windows Live Essentials 2009 and 2011 are not supported anymore, and you will need to update to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 and use the Mail app, or use www.outlook.com. To learn more about the Mail app, please click here.
We also recommend all Windows Live Mail users on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and use the built in Mail application to stay connected and get the latest feature updates.
We suggest saving this email so you can refer to it later.
Thanks for your understanding and continued use.
Sincerely,
The Outlook team

There is no really helpful information on that page; just a download.

My questions:

Is this an actual legitimate email?

If so, will will the supposed changes being made, also affect ability of users to use other email clients than the mail app (for example, could we use Thunderbird for email purposes)?

Greetings,

My hard drive crashed on my 2007 imac.  I replaced the hard drive and was able to open the old harddrive as an external drive.  I can't find my old Outlook (office mac 2011) files in the old hard drive (have tried searching Microsoft User Data in the documents file) and was wondering if anyone could tell me where to look.

In addition to retrieving my old emails, I need to find the one from Microsoft with my product key code to unlock Office 2011 in my new hard drive.

Thanks

I received an e-mail stating I needed to install this update if I wanted to continue using Windows live mail with my Microsoft e-mail accounts. I downloaded the update and ran it. It gave 2 choices repair or uninstall Live Mail 2012. I knew I didn't want to uninstall so I chose repair. Now every time I launch Live Mail 2012 it almost immediately gives me an error message stating   "Windows Live mail has stopped working"    A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I tried restarting which did not help.    I can't find a way to roll back the update.

Any help is appreciated.

Have been using this program for months now on windows 10 32 bit, and I get an email saying that MS are making changes to Outlook servers and to patch WLM 2012 and a download link.

I applied the patch and now after a few seconds of being open WLM 2012 crashes while updating the calendar.

Anyone know a fix for this? I have taken the patch off by repairing Windows essentials 2012 from the Programs and features dialog, but anyone know why this patch causes WLM to crash after a few seconds?

Tim

I have accidently changed the look of my email list and message display - I have  no idea how I did it, and I can't change it back. Instead of approximately 12 message titles (from and subject), I now only have 3 lines showing at a time and the rest of the screen is taken up with the message from the highlighted email. Thanks!

Movie maker running on Windows 10 won't open windows movie maker files made on windows 7; is there a fix?

After my IT person cleared some prefernces (Outlook plists) to fix a search issue, the highlight feature for emails with the same subject line stopped working in Date Received view. How do I get it back?! I thought this was a default feature, and I can't find anything in the user-set preferences that would affect this. HELP! This is such a crucial feature.

Thanks.
