When you look at the LINK for updating Windows 2012 live mail the link is for http://communication.microsoft.com/Key-6859401.C.0JhQ.N.K4.-.DdX0N2

I just want to know did Microsoft send this?  I want to continue to use Live mail.

Is 68559401 an update that my Windows 10 will update on it's own?

My email works now.  I just want to keep it working!

Thanks

I got this email:

Important information about your email service
Dear user,
In a few weeks, we will be making some changes to our email services that might impact your @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live, or @msn email account. Those changes will prevent your email from being delivered to the Windows Live Mail 2012 application you use.
In order to continue using Windows Live Mail 2012 to send and receive email for your account, you need to install the latest update published here.
If you use Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, we recommend that you switch to the built in Mail app in Windows to stay connected and get the latest feature updates on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
Windows Live Essentials 2009 and 2011 are not supported anymore, and you will need to update to Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 and use the Mail app, or use www.outlook.com. To learn more about the Mail app, please click here.
We also recommend all Windows Live Mail users on Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 and use the built in Mail application to stay connected and get the latest feature updates.
We suggest saving this email so you can refer to it later.
Thanks for your understanding and continued use.
Sincerely,
The Outlook team

I got the dreaded email stating that Microsoft wants me to upgrade windows in order to still get live mail.  But they were talking about 2012 live mail and higher version of windows.  I am on Windows Live 2011 working with Windows7.  Can someone please tell me if my live mail will still work if I don't upgrade?

Some are saying to wait until I don't get any more email, then to uninstall and reinstall live.  Will that work? What will happen to all of my emails, folders, contacts etc?  Freaking out a little bit here.

Original title: Bug  in Calendar

I think I've found a bug in Calendar. While viewing the December 2015 calendar, I scrolled back to look at the December 2014 calendar. When I scrolled back to December 2015, birthdays were not displayed. I had to shut down and restart Calendar to see the birthdays. This happens viewing Calendar with Firefox or IE. (I'm using Windows 7.)

I have been using WLM 2011 on W7 to handle my 3 accounts ... Outlook, Gmail and a POP3. I also have created many Storage Folders to which I move 'non-active' emails for retention and, where appropriate, for later deletion. Monthly a complete copy of all emails is copied to an ext hd.

Recently I updated my pc to W10 and WLM 2011 is functioning correctly.

I have not updated to WLM 2012 because I understand that I will loose all my settings with regard to Storage Folders ... is this correct? Also the new Windows 10 Mail is not suitable because you cannot create your own personalised Storage Folders ... is this correct?

Can you copy Windows 10 Mail emails to storage on an ext hd

Last question ... since I find WLM 2011 meets my needs will I be able to continue using it on W10 in view of the recent announcement from Outlook.com. I understand however that my Outlook.com account will have to be accessed direct and not via WLM.

Thanks Ron

I am traveling overseas for several weeks and do not want emails constantly downloading

I use web mail to screen emails, but sometimes I forget and end up with a download of 60-100 emails into live mail

Is there some way to turn-on/off downloads ?

thanks

chris

Is it genuine?

Yesterday I received email from MS to download and install "Update for Windows Live Essentials Mail 2012 (KB3093594)" in order to allow WLM2012 to continue to work with Outlook.com based email.

This patch BREAKS Windows Live Mail 2012, causing the application to crash.  I am not alone in this experience, and the only way to make WLM2012 work is to roll the system back or completely reinstall the program.

I am running Windows 10 Pro and prior to this patch WLM2012 worked flawlessly.  After rolling back via backup, it works again.

This patch needs to be withdrawn and fixed.  Terrible work here, Microsoft!

Hi,

I'm using Windows Live Mail 2012 under Windows 7 as my e-mail client for my outlook.com address. Yesterday I received an e-mail from Microsoft that due to some changes to the e-mail service in the future, I need to download some update for Windows Live Mail 2012. This is the update I was linked to:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49486

When I installed the update, all my subfolders disappeared from under my main account. I found out that this could be resolved by removing and then re-adding my account, so I obviously did it. Now (it's downloading the e-mails at the moment) there appears to be some coding error in the e-mail list, where I see the senders and the titles of my e-mails, not the messages themselves. Some accented letters (like Á, É, etc.) are missing from the senders' name (but not the title apparently), so the whole e-mail list appears broken now. The list appeared perfectly before downloading the update.

It's still downloading e-mails at the moment, I'll update you if the problem happens to disappear after finishing the synchronization process.

Thanks,

Brumi

Hi. I have been editing a movie in windows movie maker for a few hours. I have successfully split and cropped the video for many times, but when I have almost finished editing the movie, all the frames disappeared in a sudden. I thought the program was not responding, so I ended the program. It then asked me if I wanted to save the file (in windows movie maker format), so I clicked "save". After that I opened the file again, but the frames were still gone. Then I clicked the "zoom out" button on bottom right corner, and I saw the frames again. But the frames became very small, and what troubled me most was that, I could not edit the frames anymore, including splitting and removing, etc. The preview screen on left hand side went black as well.

So I decided to export the file as movie, even I have not finished editing, better than having nothing. But it remained at "Step 1 of 1: 0% completed", and even I left it for a whole night, it did not proceed at all.

I am using Windows 10. I have tried to set the compatibility mode to windows 8, but it did not work. I have also tried to uninstall and recover windows essentials, but it did not work as well.

What can I do? Why can't I edit my movie? Why can't I export my movie?
