Windows Live Mail FAQ
Have two email accounts. Both are with bigpond.com
Have purchased new AllInOne Computer and wanted to put my existing email accounts into Window 10 through Windows Live Mail. One has gone through OK and the other comes up with above error.
Error message reads:
Unable to send or receive messages for account. The host "pop-mail-outlook" could not be found
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure:(SSL): No
Socket Error: 11001

I have a Macbook Pro late 2011 with El Capitan. I've had MS Office 2011. Outlook connects to a live.com account and a gmail account.
I recently needed to do a clean restore of the OS. Now I'm putting back the data and program files, which I have on Time Machine. This is what I THINK I need to do, and if someone can help fill in the blanks, I'd appreciate it.
1) Download the current version of MS Office from Microsoft.com using the Product Key I have.
2) Run the program using all defaults.
3) Using Time Machine, restore the Main Identity over the newly installed one?
4) Allow Outlook to synch with the servers ? (How.)
Does this look right? Am I missing something?
I have 5 Optusnet email accounts, 3 of which work perfectly but with the other 2 I can neither send nor receive emails.
This has happened since the initial setup 2 days ago, when all 5 accounts were added at the same time.
The usernames and passwords are correct, and the settings are exactly the same as the 3 working email accounts.
I'm using Windows Live Mail 2012 on Windows 10.
This is the error message I receive:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Optusnet.com (xxxxx) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR Authentication failed.

I seriously need help on this matter and your input would be greatly appreciated.
I upgraded my computer to Windows 10 now I can't send or receive my Windows Live Mail
I am getting error Msg. ox800cccof. I have tried several fix's on help pages bot none of them
work. Have not uninstalled and re install for fear of losing all of my contacts and mail

Has anyone noticed that ifyou try to move more that TWO photos from one file to another, you get am essage that says a problem caused the program to stop working correctly, closes it out, then you can reopen, but nothing has been changed to a different folder? Way to slow to move pictures from one to another.
Also, if I am trying to erase or move photos, it duplicates, sometimes making as many as 4 copies of what I am tryin to erase or move.....
WHAT is going on???????

After I applied the patch; I can no longer send emails. If I click new mail or reply or forward, I get the following screen pop up...
Any ideas?
