I recently upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10. Prior to the upgrade (and even after the upgrade) I had/have both Windows Live Mail and Outlook on my computer and I could use either of them to check my live.com email account.  Now, after the Windows upgrade, neither Windows Live Mail or Outlook can successfully check my mail. When it sends/receives, I get the following error message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (cohugore) account.

Server Error: 3204
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003

I have searched and searched and can't seem to find a remedy for that error.   I have tried to change POP and SMTP settings and that doesn't work.   I have completely uninstalled both Windows Live Mail and Outlook and then reinstalled my mail account[s] and that doesn't work.  (One would think that since everything I am using (mail program, email account, O.S.) is all Microsoft, the settings would be made automatically when I add a new account.   However, that doesn't happen when the account is added as a new account, or if I try to update send/receive settings.

My wife also has a msn.com account and we get the same failure results when we try to send/receive on her account.

However, our son's live.com account (on the same computer) sends/receives just fine.

I might add that when I open Outlook, go to Account Settings, then attempt to "repair" or "change" settings for the account[s] which will not send or receive, I also get an error that says that 'A Network Connection cannot be established.'    However, my internet/network connection is fine for everything else.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I just upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 home version. I cannot get Windows Live Mail 2012 to open and load. It continually spins. I had WLM 2012 on my windows 7 and it worked perfectly before. I have been working with someone at MS support, but no one seems to be able to fix this issue. I use an internet cable provider. I don't know if this makes a difference or not. We have uninstalled and reinstalled several time with and without the Outlook pac and still nothing is correcting this problem.  The person at MS ran an error report and initially got an error about closing MS Edge. So we made sure that was closed and tried again. This time, the error was Cortana. We had Cortana shut off because I don't have a microphone. So I don't understand why that would even be an error. Right now I am having to go to web mail which is terribly frustrating. I really hope someone can help me fix this. I have spent hours on the phone with MS. I do not want to use Outlook if I don't have to.

Sincerely,

Frustrated  :)

I have setup my e-mail accounts with Windows Live Mail 2012 but I cannot save my individual e-mail account passwords even though the save passwords boxes are checked. It used to work fine before I got a trojan virus and had to reload the whole Windows 10 system back in the computer. I have tried also reloading Windows Essentials 2012 from scratch and the e-mail accounts several times to no avail.

Can you enlighten me as to why I cannot save these individual e-mail account passwords and how to fix the problem?

There seems to be a problem with Windows Photo Gallery.  I connect my camera to my  PC (Vista) and select the option to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer".  When I find and open a photo I used to get edit options such as  rename, make a copy etc. however now the options are grayed out and I can only delete.  I am not getting any error messages.

When I put the memory card in a card reader Windows Photo Gallery works fine I continue to get all the edit tools, the problem only happens when I connect the camera to the PC.  I have tried 2 different camera's, both are Canon.  I have updated the drivers for my camera. What else can I check?

Greetings and Happy New Year 2016,

I'm having trouble uploading 5 minute video clip from movie maker to facebook. Before having this problem, I would save video clip and press the facebook icon on movie maker and that would be it. Now, it's telling me to connect facebook to my mircosoft account and when I do it tells me that I'm " not logged in please login and try again" This has happened twice and I just found out that windows 10 doesn't support this application. Should I uninstall movie maker and get another app that will edit video clips and if so which one? Thank you.

I get the following problem whenever I try to install Windows Essentials.

The menu comes up to ask me what I want to install but there are no options to install anything. I have tried the web package and the offline installer and get the same issue. Does anyone know what is causing this, how to fix it, or how to get just Movie Maker without the Windows Essentials installer?

When I have a video that isn't muted right after a video that is, the unmuted video appears to be fading in. I don't want that, and there's no way around it to my knowledge. I said this same problem here.

I moved to WLM 2012 in 2013, and it wiped out thousands of my old messages.

I updated to Windows 10 on my main desktop.

I want to continue to use WLM 2012 on this machine, as well as my Windows 8 second desktop.

Does this absolutely incomprehensible message and subsequent gongshow mean I HAVE to do something to continue to use WLM 2012 on Windows 10?

What exactly do I need to do?

How do I back up all the content on WLM 2012 so that it can be retrieved (and not automatically synced and messages erased if MS screws this up again?)

One last question. I read that OUTLOOK, the program bundled with Office 365 is like the old Outlook Express, and like WLM 2012 in how it displays and stores messages and folders from multiple Hotmail, outlook and gmail accounts. When I try to open it from my Windows 10 App files, it just freezes and crashes. Is this a viable option to WLM 2012? I am HAPPY to pay for a good, reliable mail program that stores all my old emails both on my hard drive and in the online email accounts.
