Geotagging with Pro Photo Tools no longer works properly.  One is able to get the GPS coordinates, but not the corresponding Location Text (City, country).

One gets the error : GPS ro Location: Could not establish a network connection to Windows Live Local

This error was reported in several posts back in 2008/2011, but none of the proposed answers solve the problem.

Does that mean that Pro Photo Tools is not supported anymore ?  Or that it needs some tweaking ?

It was a convenient and simple way of geotagging that has no equivalent in Photo Gallery (except possibly in a convoluted way with Live Local that I was not able to really use)

Split from this thread.

Moderator note: This post isn't really discussing the stability issues caused by installing the original patch KB3093594. It has been converted to a question and moved to its own thread

I followed jFiredog's exceedingly helpful instructions for switching over to IMAP since my Windows Live Mail 2012 stopped downloading messages yesterday (or maybe the day before).  I was thrilled when the IMAP downloaded all of the headers.

However, although I can now see all the email subjects, senders, dates, etc., if I double-click on one of those to open the message, I get an error of "A problem occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again."

Additionally, at the bottom left of Live Mail, it has a message "Not connected to 'imap-mail.outlook.com'".

Furthermore, the icon at the top right says "Sign In" but whenever I try signing it does not give me an error, but neither does it change the icon to "Sign Out" (that is, it remains "Sign In" so apparently I'm not really signed in).

Anyone have thoughts about how to fix these difficulties?

I have been through my "Contacts" list in Windows Live Mail and saved all the contacts I want to keep to "favorites" . However I can't now find a "favorites" folder. Where is it? Also I want to send an email to all my "favorites" regarding my change of email address but there does not appear to be an option for "favorites" once clicking on "email Message"

I upgraded to windows 10 as soon as it was available. I had no problems with windows live mail up until a few days ago when the PC updated itself automatically.
Now I can't access my emails. I get a message saying:
Windows live Mail could not be started . It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory (0x80041161)
Can someone tell me what it means and what to do in simple terms as I am not an expert.

Thank you

Can anyone tell me why my large folder and file icons now show 2 opposing diagonal arrows in the top-right corner of icons?  This only appears on my lap-top and not my PC.

I think this only changed very recently.

I notice that, overnight, this entry has appeared on Windows Update as an "optional" download.  Is it the same revised patch that was re-released on 17 December 2015, or a further new version which addresses subsequent user concerns as posted in this forum?
