Original title: Subfolders gone from WLM but still there in Outlook

Today all of the subfolders disappeared from WLM. There is no little  triangle indicating subfolders.  I have Win 8.1 with autoupdate.  The Inbox is current but no subfolders.  Other folders do not have their subfolders either. Compact view seems to only toggle on and off.   The  Recovered folder in storage does not have any of the subfolders. I closed and opened WLM but does not help.

Outlook does have all the subfolders. but I do not like working in Outlook.

Using Outlook. From time to time I get a message - Message could not be sent. I know some of the reasons why not. My question is - How can I find which message is not sent.  It is not in the Sent File.

Just want to add my experience to the others.  Since installing the upgrade Live Mail does not receive mail from Outlook.com, with or without attachments.  But I can send mail.  Live Mail reports no error message and appears to operate normally, but downloads nothing.  I've downloaded and installed the latest update but that did not help.  I also tried deleting my hotmail.com account and recreated it but that also did not help.  My Verizon account is accessed by Live Mail to but it continues to work normally and has never been affected by any of these problems.

This is a serious problem for users because emails cannot be saved to the PC, something I do many times per day.  Please get this resolved soon.

after I downloaded the recent fix for Windows Live Mail 2012 all of my Categories (mailing groups) disappeared both in WLM and online. I recreated categories but the ones I created yesterday have already disappeared. Seems that I can create new categories but the earlier ones then disappear. In have Windows 10 on my computer. I don't want to switch to Windows Mail, as it does not seem to have capability to create Categories (Mailing Lists) in Contacts.

Suddenly the layout at the top of my Windows 12 Outlook mail changed on me this morning. Before I had it showing all of the stuff that shows if you click on the "Home" button. I went to the far left and looked at a drop down menu and exited that and from then on, my Outlook won't stay on the Home version of mail. It lists Home, Folders, View, and Accounts instead. I like having the Home showing right away. I have already tried View and it was of no help whatsoever. Does anyone know how I can make the Home version toolbar stay at the top? Thank You.

I am using Windows Live 2011 for email, contacts, and calendars.  Approximately 10 days or so ago, I lost all of my calendar events and appointments, and some of my contacts.  Several of other contacts reverted back to old data that had been upgraded, i.e. new email addresses for people.  I spoke with Microsoft tech support and also chat room with tech support without any help.  I also noted that this occurred around the last Microsoft "auto" update done on Jan 9th.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm at a lost.

P.S.  I have used Windows Live 2011 for the past 6 years and had little problems.  I do not have Windows Essentials.

Outlook download, where do I go?
