I realize that this subject has come up in other postings. But I want to register the problem again, with my specific situation.
Windows 8.1
Windows Live Mail 2012
Build 16.4.3564.0331
Desktop use only; no other ‘devices’. WLM is my default Mail handler.
I do not use Hotmail, do not use Outlook.
My email connection to my ISP is POP3.
I am signed in to WLM.
Problem: Calendar reminders are not sent to my email. This worked OK until a few months ago.
I have done the Repair Essentials but no joy.
I have uninstalled the program and downloaded again. Still no joy.
I have gone to the online calendar page at https://bay04.calendar.live.com/calendar/calendar.aspx?mkt=en-US. There I have set the Notifications to 'Email notifications' and checked 'Get reminders for events and tasks' and entered my normal email address in the box provided.
Is there any recent advice to solve this problem?
I'm using Windows 10 on a new laptop and trying to use Windows Live Mail 2012 as my default email client.
Usually it fails to open after one or two turns, then I run the repair utility "repair all Windows Essentials programs" and restart my computer, and Live Mail will open once or twice before again failing to initiate - necessitating a repeat of the repair plus a restart.
I have tried uninstalling/re-installing Windows Live Essentials several times but this hasn't helped at all.
Any more suggestions as to a permanent fix to this annoying problem, please?

I logged into my Live Mail account and discovered my "Home" toolbar has migrated up next to heading "Windows Live Mail"
Now I am looking at "Home" " Folders" "Views" and "Accounts". I have to click on "Home" to get to old tool bar (AND "send/receive" So what do I do now?
