Question about Outlook Express

After more than two months of frustration trying to get WLM to work reliably on my new Windows 10 computer; I finally gave up and resigned myself to using the totally inadequate mail system that came with Windows 10.  Yesterday (25/03/2016) I found that I couldn't print-out any emails that I had in my 'Sent' box.  Another wasted day trying to find out why... and still could not find the answer, but I saw that many other people were having the same problem.  Totally fed-up with this troublesome and maddening email system, I clicked-on my (previously abandoned/redundant) WLM icon... Lo and behold!! WLM loaded within seconds and is now working perfectly!  My pleas to Microsoft appear to have been answered?!

Can anyone tell me what has happened here?  Has Microsoft finally solved the WLM/W10 compatibility problem? Yesterday, 19 Microsoft updates were installed?  Could these have included the repair to WLM?

I hope that whatever has happened is going to be long-lasting. I'm delighted! 

Having been unwillingly "upgraded" to Windows 10 I am unable to use Windows Live Mail, receive the following missing files messages:

uxcore.dll; wldlog.dll; WLDCore.dll and UXcontacts.dll.  I have tried to reinstall Window Essentails but no good.  Please advise.

I'm currently unable to send Gmail messages using Windows Live Mail (WLM) 2012. I am receiving Gmail messages on WLM. All of the other accounts I have on WLM will send/receive email messages, but not my Gmail. 

This morning, I sent a message from my Gmail account using WLM and got the following error message: 

An unknown error has occurred.
Subject 'Subject Line of Email'
Server: 'smtp.gmail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0B
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 465
Secure(SSL): Yes

The message is not in my sent items or drafts folder. It seems to have disappeared and was never sent. I am able to send web based Gmail messages. Please advise. Thank you in advance for your help.
