I hope someone can help me.    I switched over to a MAC 6 months ago and bought outlook for it.  I have a cox email address and outlook wont save my password.   I get an error message somedays every 5 minutes and some days only a few times a day.  The error message from Cox my internet provider is...

"The server for account "cox" returned the error "Connection idle for too long".   Would you like to reenter your password.

I reenter my password but get this message over and over.  I created a gmail address and dont have this problem with that acct on outlook.   I have tons of clients using my cox email so I dont want to give up that email address.  Any help would be appreciated as Cox tells me it outlooks problem, outlook tells me its cox's problem and Apple says its outlooks problem.

During the Easter holliday and seen from my viewpoint it seems as if Google have implemented server changes that

make a difference between reliable and not so reliable email clients and unfortunately Windows Live Mail is falling on

the "bad" side of the fence. That resulted in an impossibility to access my Gmail accounts with Windows Live Mail

The result was an error code of 0x800CCC0F over and over again mixed with other error strings as well.

I am not competent enough to solve thiese kind of problems just like that but eventually I find my solution.

There is a possibility to define Google to accept these "not so reliable" applications and after lowering the bar

Windows Live Mail can climb over the fence and the mail handling works like a charm again. This is how I did it:

On https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps there is a choice to inactivate or activate this possibility.

It seems the default is to activate this function but if you select inactivate you  have moved Windows Live Mail to the

friendly side of the fence and Gmail again works fine.

Another page is

https://myaccount.google.com/security#connectedapps far down right where you can move a slider

to the OFF (left) position which gives the same result.

It may be smarter ways of doing this but this was good enough for me.

I am trying to retrieve a deleted email from Time Machine as it has been too long for me to retrieve it from my current deleted folder.  However, when I go into Time Machine, my outlook database is not in my identity folder.  Any date I go back to does not have my database folder.  Does anyone know why it does not back-up that file?

Original title: Windows Live Mail

I wanted to migrate from Windows Live Mail 2012 to Outlook, using the Export command in Live Mail. It started, ran briefly, then crashed. I then discovered that all my emails in Live Mail had lost their content. The headers are there, but each one gives the following message:

"Message cannot be found

The contents of this message cannot be found."

I am running Windows 10 and Office 365 Personal. My message store is in a OneDrive folder. All copies of the message store were synchronized automatically before I discovered the problem.

There are plenty of cases where the user isn't able to reply or forward, but the ones I remember involve an error message reading A problem has occurred while trying to open this message ...

The problem maybe more widespread. I am running win 7 pro with Win Live Ess 2011. I have 3 accounts gmail, hotmail, shaw.ca and I cannot reply or forward any.

I get an error message not a redline. When i try to repair Essentials, it gets almost complete then announces it has lost internet connection which has happened 3 times in a row. Connection is good each time.

I wonder if it is connected to a firewall issue in a bad update by MS?

Hi

I have a new computer with Windows 10 and installed Windows Movie Maker 12 .I made a 15 minute movie with pictures and video and made frequent saves over a few days. I saved it as a movie to USB and played it on my TV to check. All was fine but I wanted to go back to project file to make some changes to some things. Any of the project files I open have several picture with the yellow caution sign on them. I have not moved any of these pictures. I installed a java update but other than that nothing has changed. I did a repair to Movie maker through uninstall / repair  and rebooted my computer but am at a complete loss how to correct this,

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks

Today I can not receive messages on 1 of 2 hotmail accounts using windows live desktop. I can use both accounts when I go directly to Live but not desktop. I updated all of the Essential to insure I would be able to use Desktop a month ago and have had no problems. Using my tablet and Outlook for android all messages appear, just not my desktop which is running Win 10 Any help will be appreciated.
