Yesterday I sent 2 messages and found out later they were not sent.  Now when I go to live mail all I can access is a small window showing the task of send 2 messages and status of executing.  The errors tab doesn't show anything.  I can't open the actual email window to access any emails that have already downloaded, so can't change any settings either.  My isp is showing an error message on one of my subaccounts but that is not the one I used to send the emails that are not being sent.  Why won't it open the live mail program?

After updating to 10.11.4 of OSX El Capitan I start having again the issue of Outlook crashing after connecting to the server.  No error number, just "Microsoft Outlook must be closed..."

Any solution for this?

Thank you,

Lucian

---Original Title: recovering email---

Friday april 8th when I turned on my computer all my email was gone- windows 7 had an update the night before- this is 3 years of email that I need to get back- windows live mail was still there and all my email accounts were there but all the folders I had created over the years and all mail were gone.  I need an idea on how to recover my mail.

I can't get the update on security essentials, it goes 1/2 way and disconnects.  I get other update in whole so its not my computer. is there something wrong with  windows security essentials???? thanks

For the sake of completeness, I'd like to put out some enhancement suggestions for WLM:

  • Reenable the Outlook Express keyboard shortcuts, because they were, err, shorter, and IMHO that's what shortcuts are all about.
  • Add "create folder" button to the save-attachment-dialogue-window.
  • Allow to modify the filename for a saved attachment.
  • Make the move-mail-dialogue window bigger.
  • Do not show all subfolders in the move-mail-dialogue-window, but remember, which folder subtrees were open resp. closed from last time.
  • Add "all deleted mails" to the fast view folder. (The fast view folder is really great.)
  • Fix unicode mail recognition (should write a detailed report on this one, i just had some not as unicode recognized mails recently.)
  • Allow rules for IMAP accounts and for outgoing mail.

It's not like i feel entitled to get all this for free, but in case there are plans to develop wlm further, (again I'd like to see comments on this from the inside) , these are some suggestions.

Hi there,

I like email clients instead of web interfaces, because they are generally faster and have a better user interface. I like WLM, because it is fast and and very configurable. There are some drawbacks though, and one important is the inability to move IMAP folders. Thunderbird can, so it is feasable.

As an example, you might have a lot of folders, each related to one client of yours, in the local mail storage area, and you want to move them to an IMAP account. Now you have to create the new folder structure by hand, move all mails and delete the old folder structure. Or set up Thunderbird and do it there.

I don't know, if WLM development is frozen because of other priorities (maybe someone from inside can comment on this), but if not, this would be my first thing to improve.

respectfully
