Question about Outlook Express

I tried to install windows essentials 2012 on my windows 10 pc. In the past I have downloaded this with out issues. then my pc had problems (not regarding windows essentials). I had the same version of windows 10 (but not my copy) installed and everything seemed fine, until I came across this. when I try to install windows essentials, it fails and pops up with this error message (I have not shortened this in anyway):

"An app on your pc needs the following windows feature:

.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)"

I click on the option "install this feature"

it searches for the required files and then says it couldn't be installed

"the following feature couldn't be installed:

.NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)

the referenced assembly could not be found.

error code: 0x80073701"

I decide to search for this error and find a forum that says this will mainly happen if .NETFramework 3.0 has been turned off in the windows features. it says to open"turn windows features on or off", turn on the .NETFramework 3.0, and then it should be fine. 

I do that then it searches for the required files and then fails and says:

"windows could not complete the requested changes

the referenced assembly could not be found.

error code: 0x80073701"

the same error code as before, its just going round in circles. 

please help

Re the Contact view screen

I tried to change the order of the columns in the Contact list view. I mistakenly thought that I would delete ALL of the columns from the view and then add the ones I wanted. However, now I cannot get any columns to appear in list view. The contacts are still there but nothing is shown in the list view screen.

How do I get this back?

set up windows live mail and keep getting the above error (mail.mui not found) did search of system and did not find it. any help would be welcomed

1. When I go to a photo in Photo Gallery and open it and click Edit/Auto Adjust, there is a blank rectangle in the upper left hand corner and I cannot see the entire photo.
   Does anyone know what the solution to this problem is?
2. When I open a photo, there is no way to return to the Photo Gallery app.  Clicking the X returns me to Explorer.
   How do I return from an open photo to the Photo Gallery App?

A relation whose system went bang, cannot locate the password for her email a/c setup in WLM - its not an outlook.com a/c - I have removed the HD which is OK and are able to connect/access it. (There are complications with her ISP having changed providers)

Any one know of any free password retrieval utilities, I've all ready tried nirosoft passview which doesn't identify the WLM mail a/c under win 10 but only those under MS Outlook are found
