When I open my email I get my messages along with a square box that reads.

There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar service. If the error persists, check to see if there's an upgrade of Windows Live Mail available or contact a service representative.

I am using Windows Live Mail on my Windows 10 computer. I am getting a large number of duplicate contacts (sometime as many as 6 duplicates). I went to live.people.com and tried to use the clean contacts option for a few of the contacts with duplicates to see how it worked and found that after it "cleaned" the ones I selected, I went back to the contacts option  in Windows live mail and found that the number of contacts had actually INCREASED. The past advice I received on this is to check that my email account on WLM is not duplicated. I do not have a duplicate email address. I have 2 different ones from the same ISP.  I am signed into my Microsoft account when I use WLM so presumably the contacts are synced between the WLM program and the people.live.com list.  Thus, my questions are: 1. how to remove duplicates that currently exist and that number in the many hundreds; and 2. how to prevent them from showing up in the future and 3. why does "clean up contacts" increase the number I see on WLM?  I also want to be able to preserve the categories of contacts I created.

thanks

Using Windows live mail 2011 build 15.4.3538.0513. Can i upgrade to windows live email 2012? If so will it grab all existing accounts emails contacts etc seamlessly or do have to back them up and start all over again.

If i have to back them up what is best way of doing this?

There are a number of templates in the folder C:Program Files (x86)Windows LivePhoto GalleryMovieMakerTemplates (Win 7 Premium).  They are text files with .wlms and .wlmx extensions.  I can open using notepad.exe (set for "all files") and contents appear to set up default settings for captions, etc.

I use captions thoughout my videos and the current defaults reset the dialogs each time I add a caption.  I always end up changing the settings each time.  I would like to change the caption defaults to Left justify, medium outline, color black, and duration 35 seconds.

After I make a "template" file, how do I get MovieMaker to read in the template before I start a project?  And which name and file extension should I save the file?  Or is there a different approach, such as an .ini file, to set these defaults?

I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.  Before the change I had organized my pictures in
Windows Live Photo Gallery which had been a part of the Vista program or maybe a 2009 version of Windows Essentials.  Now with the upgrade to windows 7 and to Essential 2012 all the organization of the pictures has been lost.  How can I get the organization back.

Will the calendar in Windows Live Mail 2012 still work after the Outlook.com upgrade?  The reminders are sent to the Live Mail address but appear to come from Outlook.com.

I received an email a while ago, and again today, about Windows Live Mail will not connect to Outlook.com once Outlook updates.  I'm not sure I understand what I need to do.

Windows Live Mail 2012 is my default account.  I also have Verizon email accounts that I access through Windows Live Mail.  I do not have an Outlook.com account.  Do I need to switch my accounts to the Mail app for Windows?

Thanks.
