I have not been able to receive emails, but I am able to send emails...this has been going on for about a week. I keep getting the following message:

Unable to send or receive messages for the account. Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using authenticated POP (APOP). Contact your email provider and verify that it supports authenticated POP. To change this logon setting, in the folder list, right-click on the account name, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog, click the Servers tab and then under Incoming Mail Server, select a logon option.

Server: 'pop-server.hawaii.rr.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80004005
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

I took the advice of the technician to uninstall and reinstall and it still says this error message.

PLEASE HELP!

We have an outlook.com email account. I get this message when trying to get my mail via Mail Live. I have also tried using Outlook 2007 and made sure I have a version that works but that too will not connect. Any suggestions?

I have a couple of issues

The main one is why are all my contacts being duplicated and showing up in a network folder and a personal folder. I set up distribution lists and it adds the contacts twice and sends two emails How can get this to stop?

Why does everything show up in my unread folder at least 3 times?

I do have it set up to check mail from 4 different accounts but to have it show each email from any of the accounts 3 time - why and how can I stop this?

Why can't MS do anything about making it easy to add an address to my contact list? I have been all through the FAQ's and everything is old or it seems you have to reinvent the wheel. All I want to do is edit my list, add or delete a contact. I can and did do that very easily with Hotmail. Now not so much or at all. Mostly not at all. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I am currently replacing my old computer with a new one and part of that process is to transfer all of my email messages from my old computer to the new one. I use Windows Live Mail for my mail program. I went to the Microsoft web site and looked at the Help instructions for  Exporting and Importing messages and found it to be very straightforward.

I created an empty folder on USB drive and then proceeded to run the Export procedure. This involved selecting a destination folder for the exported files, and selecting which folders to include in the export operation. Under my primary email address, I have 10 subfolders, in addition to the usual Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc. On the screen where I was asked what format I wanted to use, I selected "Windows Live Mail Format" .On the screen where I am asked which folders that I wanted to Export I selected "All Folders". Then I clicked Next and received a message that the folders had been exported successfully.

I then took the USB drive to the new computer, started Windows Live Mail and then attempted to do the Import operation. I chose to import all folders and then initiated the Import. I got a message that the Import was successful. At the bottom of the account list was a folder that was titled Imported Folders. When I opened it, the only thing that was shown was the Inbox and Deleted Items subfolder, and also the Outbox folder. None of the other folders that I chose to back up were there. Also, the Inbox folder was empty.

I deleted the files on the USB drive and then tried another Export operation from the old computer, this time selecting all of the folders manually, but when I did the Import operation on the new computer, I got the same results. It appears that Windows Live on my old computer isn't really Exporting anything except a couple of folder names. I seem to remember doing this Export/Import operation in the past without any difficulty. Does anyone have any idea why the Export operation is failing to work properly?

Thanks in advance.

After installing windows Essentials,Correctly,my photos come up with a white box obscuring the full photo- how do I fix this.I have followed the Change/Fix protocol several times already

I recently received a meeting invite (Google) and when I tried to open it, it froze Outlook.  Will not do anything.  I have restarted my computer and force quit the Outlook app several times.  I also ran an Apple Script with instruction to delete the message, which i did, but Outlook remains frozen.  I can still access Office 365 on the web, but I don't all of my emails set up there, so am only getting some mail.

I am out of the country on a working vacation, and am stuck dead in the water.  Appreciate help from people smarter than me!

Ever since I've been using my new Toshiba with Windows 10, I cannot see or load any of my videos taken with my Canon camera SD card.  All the photos load right away into Picassa.  I used to be able to find videos through other means, but they don't appear anywhere on my PC--in videos, downloads, documents, etc.  Help!  Thanks!  Liz
