Now it's my turn to get that irritating error message "There was an error when attempting to connect to the Windows Live Calendar Service . . . &c"

From looking on other posts and forums, I conclude that this is an error that Microsoft have themselves created by upgrading their software in such a way that it stops working; that they know all about the problem, that there is no fix, and they are not going to put it right.  Am I missing something, or should I just junk their LiveMail stuff now?

Hi,

Since 'upgrading' to Windows 10 I have had many issues which I shan't go in to here. Recently though, I tried to contact a website using their link, which opened Windows Live mail 2011 on my PC, and which didn't offer to open Outlook. I should mention that Live Mail works just fine on my mobile phone and syncs with Outlook (which I have been using for some time as Live mail seems a bit sidelined of late) just fine. The Live Mail programme wouldn't send the email I wrote and also I noticed the inbox and outbox haven't updated for months, strange since Live Mail on my mobile is OK.

My question is; is Live Mail dead as far as PC's with Windows 10 are concerned and, if so, should I uninstall it?

I just got a new Windows 7 computer to replace the Windows 7 that the hard drive died on. My network and mail worked fine on it. I have a home network that consists of a XP and the windows 7. As I said the network was perfect.

On my new Windows 7 I can send messages and the receiver does receive them. I sent a couple to myself and I received them but I can only receive them on my XP computer. When I send the messages I didn't think they went through because I get an error code. 0x800CCC90.

It doesn't show the sent message in my sent folder but they did go through. The replies won't come up on this one.

I also can't connect to my network or my printer.

I have a separate  group list for my team under contacts. When I compose an email I put the name of this list as the receiver.  However, when I try to compose a message I get a window saying that I must put the name of one of the people on my list in the cc. I use my own name for this and send the message. However, the only one that receives the message is me. The rest of the list is ignored. How do I correct this problem. Please and thanks.

I followed Firedog's instructions to overcome the DeltaSync protocol problem which he posted on 7 June 2015.  Everything went fine and to all intents and purposes it was downloading the account folders except, it went on and on for hours and obviously wasn't doing it.  I haven't got that many folders! Please can  Firedog or anyone else suggest what I do next. I'm receiving mail in my Windows Live account but I can't send any.

so, I have live mail and run windows 10.  I built a list of contacts into a separate group folder in my contacts. When I select that group to send an email, only random members of it actually get put on the "to" line and actually get the mail.  Whats up??

It seems this 4+ year old problem is back.  For 2 days I have been trying to get to my emails.  I have made NO changes.  I have cleared caches.  I have run Malwarebytes.  Still cannot log in.
