I've used the same settings for years. I suddenly cannot send e-mails. Receiving them just fine. The following is the error message that I received. Tried suggestions posted on forum and none solved the problem. Nothing changed on my computer and nothing changed at ISP.

I have screened a seemingly endless amount of dialog on this general topic, but none has proven helpful in any manner.
I am using Windows 10, Windows Live Mail, a part of Windows Essentials 2012. I have, and am signed into, a One Drive account, but that has been of no use.
I historically have been able to open my picture folders/files on my computer, select the photos I wish to send by e-mail, right click on those selected photos, select Send to Mail recipient, chose the size I want (e.g., Medium 1024 x 768), and click on Attach. That would, and still does, bring up my e-mail message with the picture files (.jpg) either attached or (annoyingly) inserted as an album. All of that still works, more or less. That is not the issue.
The problem comes when I try to send the e-mail. Like scores of others who have posted in the community, I receive error id 0x8007007A;
The message gets "stuck" in my Outbox.
I AM able to send all other e-mail (after deleting the blocked message). I AM able to open Live Mail normally, click on the paper clip and attach as many picture files as I like, either as individual files or an album. The problem is that I am unable to use the built-in photo sizing, i.e., right click, send to mail recipient, pick size, and send. It appears the problem lies in an apparent error in the interface between the MICROSOFT "Sent to Mail Recipient" and MICROSOFT Window Live Mail.
Note I am using up to date everything, e.g., Windows 10, Live Essential 2012, etc. Don't tell me about changing settings in my e-mail and all that. I have done that. Even tech commenters in the community have apparently been able to reproduce the problem. Don't tell me to resize my photos first, save them, and then attach them; a real waste of time.
So, I guess the bottom-line question is WHEN will Microsoft fix this problem? Why do I have to keep using "work-around" approaches to do what was a simple process. I'm not sure why "what ain't broke" keeps getting broke every time MS thinks we need a "new and improved" way of doing business.
Can we ALL expect this to return to the process that has worked well for years?
I just upgraded from Win 7 to Windows 10 July 2016 and find I cannot open docx attachments sent to me in Windows Live Mail. I now must first save the file to a folder, start Microsoft Word and then open the file with Word to view it. I find this an unacceptable degradation of functionality from Win 7.
I checked to see what application was associated with the docx file extension and there was none. I only saw a plus sign. Clicking the plus sign the only choice was to go to the app store and get something. Word was not shown as a choice. I have Microsoft office 2000 and Word has been upgraded with the file converter from the Microsoft web site.
How can I override Windows 10 and associate Microsoft word with the docx extension to restore Win 7 functionality?
I cannot open windows mail anymore. Is it gone forever? Where can I find my mail maps?

I went to www.microsoft.com and downloaded and installed the software and rebooted. I still get the same message!! I am running Windows 10 on a machine with 16GB RAM and an AMD A10-G6800K enhanced quadcore CPU with Radeon Graphics.
After getting the message telling me I need the SQL server, if I click on "Go to Download Center" I then get an error message which disappears too quickly for me to read the error code! Photo Gallery closes.
Please advise what I can do to get Photo Gallery to run on my PC. I DO have Windows Essentials 2012 previously installed on the machine (version 16.4.3528.0331).

Earlier this month I upgraded to Windows 10 but had a problem with a development application generating warning messages. Since I had an update I had to get out and could not risk problems, I took the option to revert to Windows 7. Everything looks OK except Windows Live Mail is a mess. There were duplicate messages for everything I checked in the mail box. Clicking on one of the two entries displayed "Message cannot be found: The contents of this message cannot be found." The other was OK, sort of. Only the message that displays "Message cannot be found" shows the disposition of the message, that is, whether it has been replied to, so deleting all of these faux messages would destroy all of the tracking.
I used the Repair option for Windows Live Essentials through the Control Panel. Now there are three copies of each message. Two of them have content but no status, the other has status but not content. This affected about 20,000 messages (now 60,000). Suggestions?
