I'm trying to install a new email address into my Laptop's Windows Live Mail account. It won't let me update the server name from POP3 to IMAP.  Maybe if I uninstall Windows Live Mail and re-install it, the problem might go away. It works fine on my desktop computer.  How can I safely uninstall and re-instll Windows live Mail 2011 without losing any of my files (addresses, storage files, etc.)

Thanks

Laszlo

I wanted to quickly tag a vast number of photos, a few at a time.  One site suggested Windows Live Photo Gallery which I brought up, It is version 2011 running on my Windows 7 platform.  All of my photos were already showing so I went into the first "home" pull down and chose "Include Photos" and then, from that window "removed everything that was there.  I then "added" the directory which is on my One drive and contains all family photos (prob., 100,000 as both my husband and I are photographers and scan a lot as well). I th en got the message that said "Windows removed the location from your library  but couldn't stop sharing" Sharing shouldn't be impacted in any way, nor the location.  What does the message mean?   I don't want to move them, only tag them, with teh tag applicable to the file, not ther location or who is sharing it.  Is that what the message is saying or could it be something different (like removed the file).  If I am looking at them in Live Photo Galleryand it more like a library (i.e. a shortcut to the photo, which, when I tag, will kick in in the location on One Drive where they reside?  I don't want to do a thing that moves my photos. I had three identical email accounts with different email addresses and one disappeared. When I try to add it again either as IMAP or POP ( with identical settings) the username or password is not recognised. I need it back to release the lost messages. Maurice

I'm receiving a win 10 live mail sending error ID:0x8007007A

I use my email address as Yahoo.com but for some reason I typed an email in Live Mail and keep getting this error. the solution I get is From Cortana, like 12 steps which abbreviated amounts to.... go to windows live mail icon, to accounts, to  properties, and on and on to click the tabs, fill in the required data; (Numbers,  out going SMTP and Incoming POP3 etc., etc., etc.., that is given) check the various boxes and all the information that the steps suggest.

I read somewhere (looking to find a solution to  that unless One has yahoo plus, at a cost of $50, to get yahoo. plus,  one can not receive nor send email via Live mail. Well, with this annual cost, I would get yahoo without any more advertisements, Yippee!!!!

Every thing that was  w/o costs are now available w/ costs. what the hey!

Do I dump this Live Mail and just use Yahoo which as I understand isn't a Mail program, since I can't select it as my default email under tools, options?//??    anyway is there someone who can help me, and in simple Non-Geek language.

All of a sudden my delete folder in my Hotmail, Livemail accounts will not show any deleted messages. Inbox, sent, junk etc - no problem - the messages show up. But when I delete any of these messages there is no indication of them in the Trash folder. They just disappear.

This all started after I switched to the IMAP configuration. In the ribbon task bar when I select Accounts and within the IMAP Settings Section; the  "View Downloaded Messages"  and "IMAP Settings" blocks are shown as being active and I can select either one of them but the "Show Deleted Messages" block is shadowed out indicating it as being non active. I cannot figure out how to change this setting to show an active mode or to view it.

I have Windows Live Mail 2011.
