Question about Outlook Express

i took a random   MP4 file    of 68 KB     and saved it in Movie Maker and Free Video Editor at the various format options:

MM hi def         1,993 KB

MM for Comp     609 KB

MM for Email      216 KB

FVE ConvToAVI    125 KB

FVE ConvToMPG    88 KB

FVE Save as Orig format   68 KB

Saving in MM any file joining is catastrophic.

any other MSoft video file editing Apps?

I use this website called writeordie.com once in a while to get some writing done, and when saving it, it saves in a Notepad doc. The copy-pasting was wonky on my computer back when I saved this specific file, so I wasn't able to back it up to Word or Drive. Today, when I open it, the five/six hundred words that were previously in there (and of my NEW book, mind you) had disappeared. This is what was there in return. 

Does anyone know how I can recover this, as I honestly had no idea what it was that I had written and am really quite sad that I lost this? All help is welcome, and I would really appreciate it. I won't be trusting Notepad anymore, but I'd love to get my words back. (I put this under Writer because Notepad wasn't an option.)

Could anyone please help me to speed up the process of uploading and saving video files on Movie Maker. It takes forever to upload and save video files even though I have lots of ram and a fast processor on my laptop.

I can scroll to look at my incoming emails. However when I open an email my scroll bar is not working. This problem just recently happened. I am using iMAC desk top, and Vista.

Thanks for any help with this matter.

Have made a movie with Windows Movie maker, burnt it on a blank DVD-RW which plays fantastically on our computers, however will not play on a normal Video/DVD  player which is connected to our TV.
