Microsoft support of Windows Essentials 2012 ends 3 months from now, on  January 10, 2017...  this includes Windows Movie Maker 2012.

I've used all versions of Movie Maker from the original version 1 in Windows Me to the latest version 2012 on Windows 10, a 16 year period, and received an annual Microsoft MVP award 13 times.

5-1/2 years ago I started a facebook group focused on Windows Movie Maker... to provide community peer support to balance the Microsoft support provided here. The group has over 1,600 members and is open to all... to browse or participate.

the facebook group is at:

I'll post a monthly reminder during the countdown to January 10.... Microsoft support will end, but peer support will continue

Greetings,

Windows Live Mail can 2012 no longer connect to Outlook Mail, so I've uninstalled it. Now that it's gone, is it safe to delete this folder?

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\

Thanks,

Shane.

I have no idea what happened, but suddenly Movie Maker refuses to save anything above 800kbps. I had my previous specific settings good to go, and it was working fine. I haven't used it for about six months, and now when I save things - whether it's on my custom setting or on the maker's high def settings, it won't save to those specifications. A 2 GB video that I shave off a minute or two in trimming will save as a 158 MB file. It's extremely annoying and I have zero idea why it's doing this or how to fix it.

Just did some heavy editing on an hour long video and when I tried to save it for high definition display, I got the error "There isn’t enough memory available to save this file. Try saving it at a lower resolution."  I have ample space on my computer, and do this type of thing with 3+ hour videos often.  My graphics card drivers are up to date.  Any ideas?

Unable to send or receive messages for the Centurylink  account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'pop.centurylink.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F

Secure(SSL): Yes

This is the message I get when I try to login to Windows Live Mail.  The Centurylink and Windows Live Mail were sync together, I never  had to login until 9/8/06.  Since then I get the login dialogue box and I can't login  or get rid of  the dialogue box.  I have tried the Control Panel, Uninstall Programs/Change Program directions. It didn't fix the problem.  I'm tired of trying to get into my e-mails and not being able to.  Tried to mark 'Do login option, it is greyed out and can't be accessed.  Anyone have other solutions that might work?
