I have incorrectly entered my email address in windows live mail - I have missed a . between yahoo and co. I have made several attempts to correct this, but it seems the server is still trying to send outgoing mail with the incorrect address. As I have a lot of storage sub-folders to my in box, I am reluctant to remove the account completely and start again. Can you help, please?

The new email programme is awful. Truly awful. You can't see emails easily, you can't see folders easily. You can't drag and drop between folders. It's chunky and clunky and you can't view anything easily. Can't even see enough of the email title before opening it.

You also can't see the email address that it's come from properly. How may more have people been duped by phishing emails because of this?

The old mail Outlook 2012 worked really well, why change it for something that is so rubbish?

Can anyone recommend a good email package that can cope with several email addresses, can see emails easily, can see folders easily, can easily see which emails are read and which are unread?..........

Please help.

Hi,

I tried using my movie maker today and it doesn't work.  A pop up says "the program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."  How can I fix this error? It also appears when I tried Photo Gallery.

Hoping for your response.

Thanks!

How do I install Windows Live Mail [WLM] - 2011 in Windows 10 when every reference to "Windows Live" has been deleted?

I have been and am running Win 10 [very happy w/ it] & am current w/ all updates since they get installed automatically.

I was updated to WLM-2012 from WLM-2011.  All of a sudden, after working fine, when I tried to send an e-mail to a defined group, I had to  fill CC: or BC: w/ an e-mail address.  I'd had this problem once before some time ago & had gone back to WLM-2011 to correct it.  So, I was going to try that approach again.

I used IOBit / ASC uninstaller to uninstall WLM-2012 so I could take out the registry values that were no longer needed.  [I've used that many, many times. In fact, when I go to the Win Uninstaller, the IOBit uninstaller comes up.]  Now, all of Windows Live Essentials [WLE] seemed to have been gone, & WLE will not reinstall.

Then, MS Tech Support performed a clean install of Win 10 on my machine, but alas I still couldn't install WLE or WLM.

In reading further abt. my problem, I found out that 1) I should be using WLM-2011 & not WLM-2012, 2) I should clean all references to Windows Live out of my registry, and then 3) reinstall WLM-2011.

[Fri., 10/28/16- MS dumped a lot of new updates into my laptop.]

I did all of these things, but WLE-2011 nor WLE-2012 will not install!  I also followed the instructions at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/18614/windows-essentials for installing WLE-2012.  However,wlarp.exe is nowhere to be found in my computer.  As I understand it, wlarp.exe gets installed with WLE, and since WLE is missing, wlarp.exe is nowhere to be found.

I am VERY unhappy with Win 10 Mail because I've lost all my e-mail rules and user-defined folders when using it.

I don't want to use Outlook.

HELP ME, PLEASE, by providing a surefire way for me to install WLM-2011.

Many THANKS for providing a workable solution.

Hello,

I have contacted Microsoft 3 times about this issue and they were unable to help me.  I hope someone here can.

I need to make a video for work that includes pictures and music.  When I uploaded one jpeg file, I lost all sound on my computer.  I was only able to get the sound back by doing a system restore.  (Microsoft said the problem was because I didn't have the latest version of the driver, but I do.)  After the system restore, the videos played with sound in Windows Media Player and VLC Player, but when I tried to open them in Movie Maker to edit them, not only was there no sound, there was now no video as well.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?  As well, if anyone can tell me how to delete from my system the videos that are now blank and silent when opened up in Movie Maker, that would be great.  When I try to delete them, I get an error message saying it is open in Movie Maker, which it is not.

Thank you so much for your help.

I have an SD card with pictures all in one directory and taken on different days.  The files are named like this.  20161101_141211.jpg where 20161101 is the date and 141211 is the time.  I have checked and all of the files have the correct EXIF data as far as DateTime and Date TimeOriginal (they both match each other and the file name).

I have always imported my photos using Photo Gallery with the Folder Name set to "Date Taken + Name" and File Name set to "Original File Name".  Then when I get to the page where you select the groups you want to import, I move the "Adjust Groups" slider to be "1 day between groups".   This gives me folders (i.e. 2016-11-01) for each day that photos were taken and the pictures taken on that date inside that folder.

However now the "Adjust groups" doesn't seem to work.  I slide it to "1 day between groups" and a group will be not be "11/01/2016", instead it will be "10/31/2016-11/1/2016".  Then if I import the photos, all photos from 10/31 and 11/01 will be in a directory with the name "2016-10-31" and there will be no "2016-11-01" folder.  I check the EXIF data once again after importing and it has remained unchanged.  So when browsing inside of photo gallery the photos are grouped correctly (i.e. the November pictures will be in the Nov grouping and the Oct photos will be in the October grouping).

So Photo Gallery is reading the dates correctly, it just refuses to actually put them in folders separated by 1 day.  Some will be 2 day groups, others will be 3 day groups.  I can't seem to find any options to correct this.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Split from this thread.

Hi Loraine, I have exactly the same issue.

And no, it does not happen when logged in to Outlook.com.

I have Windows Live Mail on 3 laptops & once I changed to IMAP this doubling up of sender's names happened.
