If I know that I have an email coming to one of my accounts that Hotmail gathers for me, can I ask Hotmail to "go get it", or do I have to wait until Hotmail thinks it’s time?

Hotmail checks on whether I have new mail or not on its own timetable. Is there some way of commanding Hotmail to go and look RIGHT NOW if I know that an email is on its way and I need it immediately?
