I can receive emails in Outlook Express 6 but get an error message when sending : Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC78 – help please!

I have followed the port setup etc but keep getting the following error message: 'The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'xxx.xxxxx@outlookcom'. Subject 'Test Message', Account: 'Pop.outlook.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '501 5.5.4 Invalid Email address', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 501, Error Number: 0x800CCC78'
