I was able to fix this problem today on my computer and my wifes computer. I removed the Hotmail account and then I reinstalled it. If you have any messages in your account before you remove it, do not worry, all of my files reloaded when I reinstalled my Hotmail account. On your mail page there is a symbol at the top left that when you click on it will show options, click this and then accounts then add then put in your account and password and check save password and then finish the account will resync and load your old files and then it will download any new files this will take several minutes. I had trouble with my wifes computer not accepting the password so I removed the account again and then went through the above procedure again and it worked the second time.
