Hello, I've started using Skydrive, after Microsoft annihilated Live Mesh and bought additional storage, just to see that Microsoft is cutting down (again) the functionality I paid for.

Now in Windows 8.1 there is no Skydrive Desktop application, just system shell. I find the concept really nice, but it works awful and doesn't support any of my use-cases. I am thinking of switching a cloud provider, but before that I would like to ask some questions about the "new" skydrive.

1. Will I be able to create a Skydrive on another drive than C: (will it be supported)?

2. Will I be able to use symbolic links to synchronize any folder I want?

3. Is there going to be any dashboard to resolve syncing issues besides that crappy one in the Skydrive modern app?

4. Why skydrive application is better on MacOS and is so terrible on the newest Windows 8.1? Why do You neglect users who actually buy Your products?

5. If I'm not satisfied with the future product, is there any way I can get my money back?

Note - I'm using Windows 8.1 RTM, not preview.

I am on a Vista Laptop and using a hotmail.com (Outlook) webmail.

I can get to the signature page (cogwheel - More email options - Formatting, font and signature) and I see my original signature. I can change it but not save it - when I go back to Outlook and choose +New it comes up with the original signature. How do I save the change???

I was running on the old hotmail for a long while then it was upgraded.  I am currently going through Family Court, and all of the emails I had saved are now gone.  WHO CAN RESTORE THIS????
this is the error message... how do I correct it.

I am adding music to my project of slides and video clips.  When I add an audio file to my project it alters the position of all other audio files.  In addition, after adding an audio file and saving and closing the project, the position of the audio files are different when I reopen the project. Why and what can I do to save the project with the audio files in the proper position?
For days now, the SkyDrive icon shows two clouds with a moving green line underneath. On hovering over the cloud, it states Processing Changes. There has been no other error message when I right or left click. About a week ago, I unsynched my desktop SkyDrive, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and then resynched it. Missing files on my desktop SkyDrive appeared to be added from my online SkyDrive. The SkyDrive online had more folders and files than the desktop version. Because I use SkyDrive as a form of backup, I need to SkyDrive to do its job dependably. I hoped this would fix the problem.

That problem seemed fixed, but a new one has emerged. There is no clear error message other than the fact that Skydrive is "processing changes".

I use SkyDrive as a way to keep my devices synched with my data and thus backed up. It is my main form of backup. I stopped using both Carbonite and Google Docs when I switched back to Office 365, Outlook Desktop, and Outlook.com. However, SkyDrive is proving unstable and inaccurate. Error messages when they do appear as so vague and cryptic that they are useless. When the new Office 365 came out with promised seamless integration of Outlook and outlook.com, automatic file synching on all my devices, I was ecstatic. MS Office products are much more powerful than the Google stuff I had switched to because Outlook never did synch well with anything but Exchange Server, a pricey luxury that I could not justify using. So, now both my wife and I are experiencing many problems with SkyDrive. It seems impossible that a company with the size and reach of Microsoft would put out major software that is so unstable.  I feel stuck because I want to use MS products as I have for decades now. But I need to know it will work. And it does not so far.

I hope there is a simple, elegant, and thorough solution.

I am using Windows 7 64 Bit on a PC. I am up to date with all of the recommended fixes from MS.

Im not receiving password reset emails. Ive checked my junk emails. why?

I have been trying to close my account for quite some time now but I just can't figure it out. I have followed all the steps provided in multiple forums but I am still unable to close my account. After I click on "Account settings" I chose the option to "Close account". At this point, I enter my password and it says I must "deactivate my Hotmail account" before my account will be closed. Upon clicking the link " deactivate your Hotmail account" I am directed to a page that says "To close your Outlook account, you must first cancel your billing service. Go to Microsoft Account and Billing Services at https://billing.microsoft.com. " I clicked on the link and have absolutely no idea how I am supposed to cancel my services. I have tried everything! I hope someone can give me advice on how to fix this issue, or if it is allowed I give full permission to a moderator to access my account in order to completely close my account and fix this problem. About once every six months for no apparent reason, my Outlook starts loading all my deleted e-mails back into my Inbox.   Currently, there are 10,700 e-mails coming back into my Inbox which were previously deleted.

Does anyone know what causes this and how I can stop them once started ?

(i) how often must I log into my live.com email to keep my account active
(ii) if I access my live.com email through my Apple mail application does this count as 'logging in'?
