With these new updates two days ago, now I can't open a .docx document in Windows Live Mail. With security on, it says "Prohibited File Type"; with security off, it says "The Microsoft product necessary to open this file is not installed on your computer." I use Microsoft WordStarter and never had a problem opening a .docx attachment in Windows Live Mail before. What is going on? Is there a fix other than having to buy a new Word program?

Having problems with e-mail windows live 2011. I changed my password in e-mail. I went into my acct, properties, server and changed password. Ever since then I can't receive incoming e-mail. But if I go to road runner I can retrieve them. I have an error message that pops up stating the Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server authenticated PoP (APOP) . I get an error ID # 0x80004005 Please help !

I'm having problems with my e-mail. I went into my e-mail, then account, then properties, then server and changed my password. Ever since then the only way I can get my e-mail is through road runner. I can send find, just not receive. Whenever I go into my e-mail icon and error message pops up, Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the email server using authenticated POP (APOP). Contact your email provider and verify that it supports authenticated POP. Error ID: 0x80004005 and than I got ox800CCC90 . All I changed was password. I never had any other place that I put a password into. Bright House was not help. I keep getting the run around. Please help !

Original title: E-mail Windows Live 2013 problems
Wlmail is suddenly crashing when starting (only see splash screen, then error message).
Went through repairs, uninstall/reinstall (s) . Still crashed.
Finally renamed its registry folder. It started up. YEAH. It remembered my accounts, so it restored all my emails and CAN get emails.
It CANNOT however "sign in" to my main MSLive account, that has my Contact info (email addresses). When I try to "sign in" , wlmail crashes. This happens to be a Hotmail.com account. (and I can log into it). Once you do this, it remembers the account and tries to "sign in" when launched, which causes it to crash again, I assume this is how the issue started.
I CAN "sign in" to a different MSLive account. It of course doesn't have my Contact info.
What can be up with this "sign in" problem. It has been working fine for some time.
Looking in the WindowsLiveMail.log file:
