I get this error after opening Live Mail, Server Error: 5102, Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002.

I can open Live Mail, but I get the following (as of this morning):

 

Unable to send or receive messages for the xxxxx account.

Server Error: 5102
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

 

However: I can open the messages in Outlook, which is not my preference. I have been receiving messages to  update my instant messenger  to the  latest version, which I have (Skype 6.6); the "latest version" referred to is 6.3, which Skype properly reminds me is older than what I have. I'm running Windows 8.

 

To complicate matters even  more,  existing WLM messages are opening in Gmail.

 

I did a Windows Live Essentials repair, which didn't help. 

 

Other than removing WLM completely and reinstalling it, what can I do?

Hi, Does anyone have a fix to this problem? I reinstalled Windows Live Essentials 2011 but to no avail. Two days now with no Hotmail inwards. Outwards still seems to function. WLM Error ID 0x8DE00002. Also checked Outbox and drafts folder. Any suggestions please?

Authentication Failed – Please verify your username/password

Yesterday somehow I received emails in my Live account from my Hotmail account on my phone, that had been deleted. I went to delete them and I was unable to in either account. I then deleted both accounts from my phone and added the Hotmail account first with no problem and them tried to add the Live account. It's been 24 hours and I'm still receiving the error message "Authentication Failed - Please verify your username/password". So I logged into my Live account using my desktop with no problem. What do I need to do to get this account added to my personal mobile device again?

How can an unopened email in WLM disappear from all folders

Running Windows 7 Home Premium.  Two questions in order of importance:

 

1.  I opened WLM and saw a new email I wanted to read right away.  It was second in the queue.  I deleted the first email and both the first and the second disappeared.  The first email is in my deleted folder.  The second email is nowhere to be found -- not in the Inbox or Deleted Box or Trash or Junk.  I've searched everywhere.  How do I recover it, if possible?

 

2.  When I download new emails, why does the computer search every single folder in my Inbox and how do I change that?

Hi. There has been at least 2 weeks that I try to remove a Calendar entry from Hotmail (Live) and it keeps giving me that a "Calendar error has occured. Try again later".

 

Any solution to that?

hacked email and changed password

My brothers email account has been hacked and they have changed the password for his account so we are unable to gain access to the account. 

We have submitted the questionnaire and it has come back as rejected saying not enough info. We have also phoned support and requested a call back to inform them of this problem but have been waiting two weeks and no call back. We have no way of gaining access to the account therefore unable to use the xbox linked to the account and also see emails with private information on them. 

This is a real problem and microsoft have not yet sorted this problem. Does anyone else know what to do to get the password reset so we can gain access to the account when we currently can not gain access?
