Can you please help with this error?

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail  account.

Server Error: 5102

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

I have Windows 7 and up until now have been able to open attached files (.pdf, .doc etc) by double clicking on them in windows Live Mail. As of today I can not. I downloaded the latest version of Reader, cleared my history, temp files, Favorites website data,  in Internet explorer. I have checked to insure the extension is linked with the .exe program. When I right click on the data the "Open" choice appears but not the "Open With" choice. When I choose open or print, nothing happens. I can however select save and then open the file in the saved folder.
Today, after a number of attempts, I am unable to send or receive hotmail emails.  The system lets me in but it takes a long time to partially upload the folders in my account.  The graphics displayed remain very basic and if I click on an email inside any of the folders, in order to read or send the email in question, nothing happens.  The only section that's working is the settings section that includes my personal details.  For some reason this is unaffected.  The rest just doesn't work. Logging out is another nightmare, very slow.  My emails are in the system but I cannot access them.  Nor can I see the contents of any of the folders except for the Inbox folder.

Please reply to the alternative email account I have of:

My Windows Live Mail 2012 running under Windows 7 is stuck in "Updating Calendar".

When looking at the logs, the following lines appears several times a second:

[13:19:56.16] 26d8             Calendar:                     Chk ERROR: (wcsseadapter.cpp:278), failed with 0x8CAA000A

I am a 75 year old female and I recieve offers for male enhancement products and other offensive offers daily. Where do these people get my email address? I have never ordered any product that would lead one to believe I was interested in theirs. Every time I go to my e mail, I sweep the junk mail, but it doesn't stop. Is there anything I can do to prevent it?

I am using version 14.0.8117.0416 of Windows Live Mail. There was a menu (very full) that included Send/Receive and I clicked to hide it. Now I can't get it back. How do I find that menu again?
