I am trying to convert my hotmail.com email account to connect with IMAP instead of POP3. I use Mail.app on OSX 10.8.5 to receive my email.
However, I cannot log in to my account via the IMAP protocol. I've configured my account exactly to the settings specified in this post. What happens is that Mail.app continually asks for my password as if it cannot authenticate with the server.
To further troubleshoot the issue, I used Mail.app's Connection Doctor feature to get more detailed information on what's going wrong. This is the output I get related to my hotmail.com account:

I've seen other posts describing a similar error code, which leads me to believe this is an account or server issue on Microsoft's side. Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
I am perfectly happy with my existing Gmail calendar etc and do not want to import it to Microsoft calendar and use that. How do I sync my existing accounts without having to link to a Microsoft account. Same question arises for my existing Gmail calendar,
Facebook account, Skype account. Am close to uninstalling Windows 8 . Very unhappy with it.
I noticed that almost 100 repeats of one particular email I sent yesterday appeared in my "Sent" box - upon deleting all I noticed later more appeared. These seem to be repeating every few minutes. I have since changed my ID log in password but the problem
remains.

When I receive an email with attachments in Outlook.com, the attachment icons at the top of the page "cover" the first 5-6 lines of text in the email message.
I work on a high end Dell PC with XP. This is only a problem when I open Outlook.com in Internet Explorer 8. When I open Outlook.com in Firefox, it is not a problem.
I'd appreciate any help MS or other users could provide. My preference would be to use IE, if possible.

My entire Inbox was emptied some time between 10/7/2013 and 10/82013 not due to me accidentally deleting them and not due to incorrect client settings. They are also not recoverable from deleted items folder because they were not accidentally deleted.
Some sort of system error must have occurred. No I don't need instructions on using POP or instructions on how to check settings that are not related to what caused this. I need my mail.
Outlook stopped remembering my email address, how do I correct?
I forwarded a notification to contacts, and now the message is no longer in my inbox.
I could not find a way to change this in settings. I want my message to stay in my inbox .

Just created an outlook.com account and added a test entry into the outlook.com calendar. Added the outlook.com app to my Galaxy 4S phone. All I see are e-mails. Can I view my calendar on my phone and how?
