I have been a loyal user of hotmail.com for many years. Now (I believe coincident with the switch to outlook.com), all my past e-mails have disappeared. I cannot see anything. I have a some recent e-mails but all the old e-mails from years ago are gone. I access hotmail on the web, so the idea of their going away did not cross my mind. So, while my mailbox has been light recently it had not clicked that they might be gone altogether.I have lost all saved e-mails in a storage folder. I had my computer worked on and when they downloaded all my hotmail everything was on the new outlook but my stored e-mails that I have had for years are gone. How can I get them back? sorry I tagged onto this other e-mail,don't really know much about how to fix things like this.I am not sure what has happened and what I can do to retrieve them, but this is a fairly disastrous scenario for me. Can anyone point to what I can do? Who I should contact?
Yet another example of how Microsoft is going backwards in functionality and stability. Rather than improving a system that worked in spite of a few flaws, they decided to completely redesign everything to make the GUI horrible to look at, the workflow more convoluted than before, and add several new stability issues to the original flaws, which BTW still exist.
Having said that, is there any way to recover Hotmail (Outlook, whatever) after designating an email as Junk? Whenever I click the "Junk" button, the email is moved into the Junk folder, as it should, and the screen returns to the Inbox list, which is fine. But from that point on in the session, clicking on an email does NOT open the email. It marks it as "Read", but does not actually show it. This is obviously due to a linkage error in the code, which is part of the complaint in the first paragraph. So many "features" were added by unskilled programmers who do not follow up on how their feature case effects the rest of the system.
Apparently the only way to resolve this issue is to close Internet Explorer and log back in. It's bad enough that I now hove to log off and log back in for each of my email addresses (again going back to the notion of Microsoft software going backwards in functionality and stability), but I also have to shutdown Internet Explorer and restart, then log back in every time I designate an email as "Junk". And with all of the junk that Hotmail allows slip through, that's a lot of wasted effort. But I guess Microsoft knows a lot about that subject.
The irony is, as someone here at work showed me, this issue doesn't occur in Chrome. Hmm. So this is an Internet Explorer issue? Well maybe I should be blaming the company that makes Internet Explo- oooooh, that's right. It's the same company. Interesting how Microsoft can't even make stable software that works with OTHER software which they make themselves! Looks like Google at least knows how to make stable software. Perhaps I should just make a gmail account.

I need to retrieve an email from approximately two years ago.
This was saved in a folder but was deleted after my account was hacked into.
I have tried recovering deleted messaged in the deleted folder but they do not go back that far.
Please tell me how I can go about recovering this email?
I received a replacement HTC 8X Windows Phone 8 yesterday (old one had a broken screen). After I signed in with my Microsoft Account (an @outlook email address), it synced all my settings and such.
However, I am having trouble receiving mail on that same account. It keeps saying "We're having a problem connecting to blu-m.hotmail.com." with an error code of 86000C09.
I can't remove the account because it is the one for the entire Microsoft Account. I did try going into the account properties and double-checking that the password is right (although I assume it always was since I was able to download all my settings and install apps from the store, sync to Xbox and such). Sometimes it even downloads email. I got mail this morning, even though it then immediately threw up the same error again and supposedly "last updated 13 hours ago". Any ideas of what I can try?
Can I schedule my drafts to auto-post over the longer time period with Live Writer, or should I get rid of it & go back to writing it straight to Blogger?
