Hello,

I've had a hotmail account since approximately 1998.  I do not delete emails as I archive everything.  Recently, I noticed that emails prior to 2005 have not been saved other than some that I specified to go into an Archive folder.

I have not migrated this account to an Outlook.com account, so I would assume this problem is related to something else.

Can these emails be recovered?

Thank you.
Running W8.1, the version just released, when I mark a SkyDrive folder "Online Only", the folder shows the proper availability, but if I drill down to individual files they show "Available Offline".  The only way I have found to fix this is by changing individual files to "Online Only" even though they are already in a "Online only" folder. This is unworkable because of the thousands of files I have.  This has to be a bug...it worked in W8 by selected folders not to sync.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

I created 3 emails on Outlook 2013 and sent them to 3 different recipients using my Outlook.com account.  They emails arrived at the intended recipients inbox.  I can also see the emails in the sent items folder in the Outlook.com webmail interface.  The sent emails are not in the Outlook 2013 sent items folder.  Why are these emails showing up in my Outlook 2013 sent items folder?

Also, when I created they emails, I inserted screen shots of a webpage into the text of the email.  The recipient said the screenshot had been converted to unviewable .dat files.  When I send an email without any screen shots, I can see the email in the Outlook 2013 sent items folder.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.
When I click on a download of a zip file, all I get is a blinking screen that I can't even get rid of without shutting the system completely down.  It only happens with the compressed zip files.
Hi,
I've just started putting my data onto SkyDrive.  I'd seen there were 200GB and 400GB (i think) options available.
I was going to subscribe to the 200GB one, but for some reason I only seem to be able to see 100GB now?

I'm sure I saw 200GB available before, unless I'm going crazy!

Thanks,

Justin
sky drive will not sign in from the app on the start scree in windows 8.1. i get the msg..... the operation could not be completed to retry shoud be performed.
I went to check my e-mail and found that it has not received any new e-mails for a couple of weeks. I think it is because my computer automatically updated to the new Windows. How can I keep my old e-mail address and continue to receive e-mails there. I can still receive e-mails on my ipad at this address. Help Please.
I posted the following question a little while back and was in private contact with a microsoft moderator and then the link or tread went blank and I did not receive a reply to info I provided.  Can I get some assistance here to figure this out?

Several months ago but less than a year I tried to close my account.   I need to recover the emails as something very important is in need of retrieving.  I noticed when I went to the close the account it said it would be possible to recover emails withing a certain time period.  I am hoping I can still do this.  Is there anyone that can help me to figure this out?  My account is still active, I can still log in.  It did not close down.

When it was still Microsoft, not Outlook, when you close the account you are given a message that all emails will be retained for a specific period and then after that they may or may not be available (the period I saw was 6 months).  It was stated upon closing the account it was possible to recover emails in the account.

Is this something Microsoft used to do with hotmail and not a feature with Outlook?

I want to know if I can recover emails from my hotmail account from less than 6 months ago?

I had tried online chat and they were not helpful at all.
