I have been getting emails that keep telling me my Hotmail account has expired.  They give a link to update and keep my account.  Is this a con spammer or is this from Hotmail.  Here is a copy and paste of the actual email....

Security Alert,

Dear Customer,

Your Hotmail account has expired. You must renew it immediately or your account will be closed
or wouldn't be able to send or receive mail.

Regards
Hotmail Customers Service.

The Hotmail link is not the address it actually goes to.  If I just put the curser over the link in the email, the actual address that comes up is....   http://www.mokusok.co.hu/tool/hotmail.html   I have not clicked on this link as I do not know where it goes or what harm may be caused.

The header reads, "Your email account has expired".  And here is the address that is listed as the sender...

"Hotmail Alert (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)".

Is any of this real or is it a con to make me link to a site that may be harmful to my computer?

My wife's Windows Vista system crashed badly -- hard disk died, computer itself was mostly fried.  I was able to get a company to recover the disk contents, or at least most of them, and now I'm trying to pull in the main things she cares about from the recovered disk.  My machine is Windows System 7, and I'm working from my machine.

For reasons that date back to the pre-Hotmail era, my wife uses a Hotmail account, but ran the Outlook client to download emails.  Then she saved them into various personal folders -- one for mails from her sister, etc.  Those folders were local to her machine, so I assume they are now on the recovered disk.  I do see some very large files with names like WindowsMail.MSMessageStore.

Can anyone suggest the obvious steps to (1) track down her contacts, and especially the outlook "groups" that she had defined.  As you probably know, Hotmail itself doesn't understand groups, so those groups were represented in her Outlook contacts on her machine.  (2) Recover those old emails from her family.

Obviously these days one would be wiser to keep those kinds of email folders up in the cloud.  That's clear now.  But the first step for me is to recover them off of this recovered disk!  Thanks...

I recently added a domain to my domains.live.com account, simplyhealth-calm.com , that I admin and was setting up email for. When adding a user I got an alert that the user already existed and it gave me the option to import that account over (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***)

This person does not know her password as the account is old and inbox is set as inactive. I tried the forgot password options on outlook.com and it says the account doesn't even exist. How can I reset the password, make the mailbox active, etc ?

Sometimes when I email people, I get this message:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

This excludes MSN and Gmail users. Im not sure why this is going on, but I need some answers.

Every time I open this project that took me about 4 hours to do it won't save the video. It saves it in the draft form or whatever but when I go to actually publish it to a website or publish it to my computer it won't save. It goes through the saving percentage up to about 84% when its "saving" to my computer. It won't actually make it to the publishing. Then After that I try to cancel or close it freezes up and will stop responding. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! I need this video and I don't have the clips anymore.
After making an alias for my old Hotmail account then changing it over to the primary alias. I had tested logging in with both handles which worked great. The day after, my account now gives me the error about the inbox being updated. After reading multiple forum discussions about others with similar issues. I have tried multiple computers/browsers/devices. I still have access to my skydrive as well as calender and people. This is my primary email, it is frustrating to not have access to it's content.

I have already posted in another thread, in which a moderator asked me to create a new thread for further assistance.

My HD video is heavily pixilated after saving it in Movie Maker, but it's fine when viewed in the project file
I do not know a lot of technical terms so a simple explanation would be greatly appreciated.
I am using Firefox version 24.0, and since I was "upgraded" from Hotmail to Outlook (worst decision ever in my opinion), I have been unable to send or forward any emails with attachments.

Is extremely frustrating and I wish I could just go back to the normal Hotmail!

I have read several of the questions/answers on here and NONE of them have been of any help to me.

Tried to speak to someone on the live helpdesk, but they unfortunately directed me here.

I hope someone can assist as really is getting on my last nerve.

Many Thanks

Hi,

Today I noticed that alot of mails were missing from my outlook account. Once I moved from my old provider mid august, I imported all mails from my old IMAP account. I had about 5000 messages which all nicely resided in my new outlook inbox.
Today, when I check my mailbox, I have 236 mails left. Everything before September 6 is wiped. I have not deleted any mails, and I know they were present at least a few weeks back. Is there a problem with the service?

I can't send an email to group contact that contains 40 email addresses. I receive an error message saying that my mail box has reached it's maximum size limit at which you cannot send or receive any more content. Empty your deleted items folder from Outlook or delete messages from your mailbox to create more space. These boxes are empty because I have only just started using Outlook.
If you click on the "Details" box it shows -

File: outlook\pstprx\storeas\utils\airsyncstatuscodes.h
Line: 104
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
MailStatus: 115
To re-try press F9...
Error Code: 0x80004005

Please can you help because I need to send mail like this regularly to a Contacts Group with a large number of recipients.
