This morning I attempted to access my Windows Live Mail 2012 account through the application on my desktop, as I have done successfully all year and for many years prior. However, after clicking the application shortcut, I received this error report, after the application failed to start:

Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory. (0x80041161) "

I have 1.32TB remaining of disk space and 16GB of RAM. I have also attempted to run the 'repair Windows Essentials' operation through the Control Panel, but the repair process (which was only supposed to take a few minutes) remained for three hours at the 14% stage of completion and would not progress any further.

I have very important information stored on my Windows Live Mail account that I cannot afford to lose, and as Microsoft never alerted me to the fact that it was ceasing its support of Windows Essentials, I was unable to do anything about this situation until it was too late. Please help. Many thanks if you can.
