Since SP2 for Outlook 2011 (Mac) we have the following problem on all our workstations (Lion and Snow Leopard):
- When a mail has an attachment of about 5Mb or more, Outlook only partly downloads the message from the (Exchange SBS 2008) server. On top of the message there is a bar that tells 'This message has party been downloaded' And all attachments stay gray and can't be opened or previewed.
- There is a button in that bar 'Download full message' available, but it doesn't help. After a spinning indicator the message is still not downloaded
- Forwarding the message results in a send without attachments
- Deleting the message isn't possible, Outlook freezes with a spinning beach-ball cursor

Solutions tried (without result):
- recreate mail-account
- delete mail database
- complete reinstallation of Office 2011 (after deleting all preferences, library-files and so on

With Apple mail, in OWA and on the iPhone the same mails work perfectly, so it seems save to suppose the problem is not server sided.

Hopefully someone has a way around, or this bug can be fixed somehow.
