I used Photostory 3 for many years on an old windows XP system and was satisfied with its functionality. Therefore I now installed it on my Sony VAIO Windows 10 notebook. Editing the story worked well but when trying to convert my photo story to wmv format step 2 hangs with 0% progress. The problem is reproducable. I deinstalled and reinstalled the application by using PStory.msi but the problem persists.
Any hints? Are there any prerequisite software components I could check?

I couldn't reply to my old thread of May 1, 2017. To provide the solution I found in the meantime to the community I now open a new thread with the same topic and my solution.
The problem was caused by some (not all) mp3 sound files. My workaround was to convert the problem mp3 files to wav. This worked well.
