I am in desperate need of help converting mpg video files (from my Sony Handycam) to a format that can be used in Windows Movie Maker.  When I had Windows 7, this was no problem . . . I was able to use the mpg files, make my movies, and then burn them to a DVD.  I now have 2 years worth of videos on my Sony Handycam and can't figure out how to edit them and burn them to a DVD.  Is there a video converter that I can use??  (I'm hesitant to download one from a random site for fear of "bundle" downloads that will me alot of extra (and potential dangerous) "stuff."  Is there any software alternative to Movie Maker that would work my my mpg files and also mov files (from my IPhone)??  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!  Thank you SO much!!
