I recently had to reset my computer. I reset it to Windows 7 since I already had recovery discs for it.   I am not a fan of Windows 8.1 which I had before.  My problem is simple; I think.

I was told that I could no longer use Windows live mail, so I got my email through Comcast.  Then, I realized I could get email from WLM, so I reinstalled it and everything was working fine.  Then, I got a message:  "The server you are connected with is using a security certificate  that could not be verified.  The certificate's CN name does match the passed value."  I immediately called Comcast, but they were not able to help me.  Can somebody tell me how I can stop getting this message every time I want to check my WLM.  Thanks for any help.

  1. bitter sylence says:

    Accounts>Properties>click on Servers Tab
    I set mine to
    POP3
    Incoming mail (POP) to pop.att.yahoo.com
    Outgoing mail (SMTP) smtp.att.yahoo.com

    On the Advanced Tab
    I set mine to
    Outgoing mail (SMTP)587
    Incoming mail (POP3) 995

IT WORKED FOR ME! GOOD LUCK.
