I just installed Office 2011 for Mac update 14.5.0 and experienced the same frustrating problem. Unable to access Outlook mail window. Unable to send, receive, or see my email messages. Need help!
MS has a new update for office 2011 14.5.1. I just downloaded this and the installation was successful. I restarted my Mac and Outlook is back to normal again. Good luck.
